You just gotta smash them in there lol.. Take the edge of the pad and get it in there. If there is no way at all then you can wrap the pad around something and poke it around lol.

use something other than your finger that is smaller? lol

BTW... 600 grit is about as rough as you can get before it starts showing through. 400 will show. I did paint work in another life. :P

The only pics I have are the stuff I removed from the car. I didn't post them because I didn't think they were all that exciting to see. Engine and trans is still in the car. Pretty much everything else is gone. I was hoping to have the engine bay completely empty this weekend and ready to be washed.

Maybe I am doing this wrong but my idea is no masking. Other then Covering the car of course. The fenders are coming off and from the front doors back will obviously be covered. The dash is coming out and ill be putting tape covering the holes from the inside. O and ill be covering the sub frame and rack. Other then that I do not see anything else being masked off because It will be removed from the car.

I do plan to take a pic once the engine is out and then a pic after each step and coat of paint is applied.

If you do tape... use a rolled edge. Tape the edge of the paper with HALF the tape...Stick the tape with the paper on the WRONG side of the tape line, then take the paper and drape it over the tape in the other direction. Keeps you from having "hard tape lines"

Also never set your tape down on it's side because it will pick up dirt and crap that may get stuck in your paint!

Those are pro tips right there! I assume you'll be climbing in the bay, remember to tack the core support for dirt again if you step over and watch your ***. It's tight in the bay. You have a pretty forgiving color so even if you do get a little dirt or blemishes they won't be as noticeable as they are on other colors. Hurry up dan, I wanna see progress.

there is also a 3m foam tape that I have used to reduce hard tape lines. Its mainly used for jambs and such, but it leaves a nice soft edge. Its prolly a little more than using the flip method with masking tape though.
