New WW IX MR
can i get the calipers alone? sounds like they should fit my dba 5000 rotors?
but yea given the rotors i just bought, the pads i just bought - will probably have to get used calipers and get them rebuilt?
idk. what a ****ty situation

I think we've got a resolution here! There's another shop that rebuilds OEM calipers, that has a set in stock. Racing Brake is going to send them a rebuild kit containing the high temp seals & ss pistons that I wanted to that shop, who will powdercoat the calipers and rebuild & send to me!
I made sure to mention the issue about the pad guides to them, and they were aware of it.
Racing Brake, without any hesitation, agreed to accept & refund the calipers, and are even paying postage on that, as well as giving me a discount on shipping to get the new rebuild kit to the new shop. Should have everything by the weekend in time for the race!

Lol don't count your chickens before they hatch! You still need to get the new calipers and successfully bleed them!
My GF might be upset but I think you should book me a flight to CHI for Fri and do it for you...

Geee who had that brilliant idea to bleed out all the air with crap fluid and then flush back in the good stuff!?
The system prob only takes about 1 liter of fluid maybe a smidge more. When I do a full flush I can easily get away with 2 liters and that includes bleeding the clutch line too. Honestly after a liter Im already seeing clean fluid.
Basically get out the air and then suck out the crap fluid with a syringe or turkey baster out of the resevoir fill with good fluid and a liter or two should yield all fresh and good fluid.

got it. bleeding plan this go around is to bleed all around and fronts twice, or maybe just focus on the fronts entirely. rears should be clean but i'll do it once anyway. give it a drive & see how it feels, then bleed the fronts once more to get all the air out.
according to tracking, the new calipers should arrive on Saturday! fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and works well. this brake ordeal has taken way, way too long

gallons and gallons of brake fluid flushed through the system
