Okay so the clutch went out in my X. 40k on the stock clutch isn't too bad I guess. I had to throw the front end back on my 8 and push it out in the driveway so I can change the clutch on the X. That being said I did order some more stuff for the 8, the brake lines are pretty much done, I just need to take them to a friend to flare them. I have a color scheme picked out for the valve cover and the brakes and all that good stuff.

Everything is filthy. It will all be cleaned, prepped and repainted with a clear coat.

Thanks guys, I'm about to order some 316L weld ells to start on the turbo kit, I have all the flanges here ready to go.

I'm building a turbo kit for a friends BRZ, so I'll be sure to post up some pictures of that as I make progress on it. I know it's not an Evo but I'm sure some people will enjoy seeing that stuff.

Josh, I would talk to STM on the manifold. You shouldnt have to remove the power steering for the exhaust to fit. I ran that manifold 2 years ago.

Ryan is actually friends with Turn In. He was always there. You probably met in passing and didnt know.

Brad, I'm not so sure that the manifold is the problem. I think it may be the length(inlet to exhaust exit)of the turbo. I am not using a turbo that is widely used in a ff setup. The only time I have seen people using a Holset in a ff setup it was a custom manifold. After looking again this morning I may be able to get the o2 out the back and down. I will investigate more tonight....

Do you still have the same phone number?

"borrow" away! I got the idea to run the brake lines in the cowl from Alex. I just did it a bit differently.

Josh do you still play paintball? I was in it for a while, played on Unlimited for most of my years. Then played a few seasons with Fuse when Unlimited was done.

So I haven't been working too much on the 8, I've been putting a lot of time into making new parts for my X. I attached a picture of what I've been making a lot of recently. I'm thinking about tubing the whole front end on the 8, the radiator support is all rusted out and all the nuts are broken off of the back of it. Still debating whether or not to buy a new OEM rad support or build one out of chromoly.

Okay so the valve cover, compressor cover, intake manifold and throttle body are all off to be powder coated. I started to tear apart these Brembo's and they are a MESS. I feel like they've never been fully disassembled and cleaned so I'll be taking the opportunity to do it now. Damn near every bolt stripped out, so I'll have to extract the rest tomorrow, I don't have an ez out small enough, nor do I have a drill press to do it on at the moment.

You can see the studs of the bolts sticking out here

and here

I got to the last bleeder valve and the threads just said **** it and came out with the bleeder. Awesome.

I'm gonna get a time-sert kit for it, as I'm not a fan of helicoils.

These will be off to powder soon, I ordered some red paint off Amazon to spray the bay with. If it looks good I'll roll with it, if it looks like crap I'll take it to a friends shop and have him spray it. I realized I need to order the radiator core and the intercooler core before I can make the turbo kit. That will give me enough time to get the bay prepped and painted in the next few weeks so I can put everything back in and ready for some fab work. The goal is to have the car ready in May to take to the first weekly drag racing event. Wish me luck!
