Wiring harness is complete. This was a hell of a project in itself. Removing miles of old tape and plastic loom, taking out unused plugs, extending wires and putting on about 125' of new loom and tons of heat shrink.

...exhausted.

 

Interior update, gutted out the carpet and seats. But don't worry, only to clean them.

Started painting some small pieces.

Looking forward to see how the build progresses. An HLA pressure regulator would be cheap insurance too the next time you have the valve cover off.

 

I have one of those sitting here new in box waiting to go in.

 

Yesterday was fairly productive.

Installed brake lines, booster and master
Installed power steering lines and reservoir
Installed AC lines and condenser
Installed wiring harnesses that travel into interior

And then completely installed the freshly cleaned up interior.

Crank arrives Monday and then off to the machine shop for bottom end assembly.

 

Cleaned the carbon off of the pistons. Amazing what can build up in 9k miles.



Also cleaned up the cowl and installed it with all new clips now that the wiper wiring is back in.



Installed my freshly powder coated louver tray too. Tried to get some good photos of the metallic but it's tough to capture.




Also mounted the fuel pump resistor and relay where your won't see them.





Got the secondary fan and the horns in and wired

 

Oh yeah and this finally showed up!

Uhh so small updates

Started working on the valve cover. Removed the baffles to tap in AN fittings and working on grinding the ribs on top down smooth. Also started stripping the old powder coat off. Bye bye blue!

 

Mounted some tires.


Got my engine parts on the table ready to start thinking reassembly


Need to port out these oil galleys too.

Update.

I had a pro assemble the bottom rotating assembly for me and got it back yesterday. I went ahead and put the pan on to cover the bottom, then installed the L19's and the head.

Covered with a junk valve cover until I can get it painted and assemble the rest.



Not lately, been working on some side jobs to fund more of the build. Right now I'm installing s2 cams and a gtw3476 kit on an 8 along with a bunch of other upgrades.

 

More motor assembly. Baffle and pickup tube in.

This little spacer from STM Tuned that you can barely see eliminates the need to reinstall the balance shaft sprocket.
