Ok so I have a set of Enkei rpf1 17x9.5 +38 and I’m searching for summer tires and sizes, I wanted the Michelin pilot super sport 4s but now the size is the question, I read the 255 is best for a 9.5 wheel and I know 245 will fit but will it be stretched out too much after you throw air in it?Those tires don’t come in 255/40r17 only in 18”. Fitting tires and wheels makes no sense to me lol thanks

This is my 2nd set of Federal 595 EVO's. You will certainly like the $$$ vs Mich. They have a nice stiff side wall & have worked very well, for me, on the street. They are summers & have a wear spec of 240. Just note: They run a size wide. These are 265/40/17's but really measure 275.

I like them , I just don’t know crap about sizing tires to rims and benefits of each. I was going to get a 255/40 for the 9.5 but I changed tires I wanted and they don’t offer that. I’ve had the Enkei sitting in the garage for a minute.

The tire Gurus ranges for the 9.5" wide wheel are:
  • 245min to 275max
Your thoughts on a 255/40 would be just fine & you would likely get away from doing a rear fender work due to the +38 offset

I have Hankook R-S4 in 255/40R17 on those exact wheels. Price is good, grip is decent but not up to the latest 200TW tires, wear rate is great relative to the grip, and they handle heat well.

I think I’m gonna try these tires out , they don’t have them 255/40 I believe tho. I’m not really wanting to spend a grand on the Michelin’s , maybe once I find the “ perfect” tire and size I’d spend more but I want new rotors and pads too lol
