I bolted them together just with a couple of bolts so I could put the discs on the car along with the calipers and pads and bleed the brakes.
I’ve got a track day on Friday and my pads/discs are getting bedded in on Thursday, my mate who works for the supercar team is going to bed them in on there machine like they do with all the race cars, so when I go to the track on Friday both the pads and discs properly bed in.
Thought it would be better to get all the brakes bled up and working so all I’ve got to do Thursday afternoon is just bolt the discs together properly and then fit them to the car.
Springs are now here, I went with 12kg front and 13kg rear, this should suit my setup and specific valving.
The shocks are finished from being refurbished/rebuilt, they should leave Nitron tomorrow and I should see them next week. I can’t wait to get them on the car!
Got the discs and pads back, they couldn’t end up bedding the rotors in as my 343mm rotor is a fair bit smaller than the 385mm rotors the v8 supercar uses so the tooling wouldn’t quite fit, I’ll get some bell plates made up so for next time they’ll be able to do it. Bolted the discs together and fitted everything up and went for a little drive doing some gradually increased speed stops to bed the rotors in, damn the brakes are powerful lol.
Corner weighted the car today, got it down to 50.16% which is pretty damn good.
The total weight was 3,160.2Ib (1433.5kg)
That was with me sat in all my driving gear and a full tank of fuel (meant to put half a tank in but forgot when at the fuel station and filled it up lol)
Really happy with that, if we take away the full tank of fuel 82.6Ib (37.5kg) and my weight with my gear 165.3Ib (75kg), the weight of the evo without fuel would be 2912.3Ib (1320kg) which is pretty light.
The lamspeed exhaust didn’t fit properly so I sent it back. Picked up a brand new Invidia Titanium system instead for a great deal. Super keen to get this fitted, should save a few extra kg as well.
Finally my Ecu package has turned up, I went with:
Link G4X Plug in Ecu
Link Expansion Loom for sensors
Link CAN-Lamba Wideband
Link CAN connection cable for the Motec dash
Link Air Temp Sensor
Link Pressure/Temp Sensor x3 for oil, fuel & coolant
I’ll get all the sensors and stuff wired up ready to go, then I can take it to my tuner, pop the ecu in and get it tuned.
My Engine mods will be:
3” Exhaust Turbo Back
PWR Intercooler
Intercooler Pipe Kit
Air Intake Kit
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
3 Port Boost Solenoid
Cop Kit
I’ll be happy if I can get 360bhp, I’m not looking for massive power at the moment, just want a bit more power in a very well set up light car.
