I agree with most people and think that the rules are sometimes randomly enforced.

However, what I am most annoyed about is the fact that certain vendors constantly break the rules and aren't punished for it.

It was so peaceful on these forums when when DB's account was temp-banned. Now everywhere I look, if there's an argument, DB and his cahoots (namely Dynoflash and AWD) are there stoking the fires. It's supposed to be one Evo community but it doesn't look like it when these guys are rambling.

And since Mike is in here I'll add an off-topic comment about TTP's dyno since that seems to get you riled up. How about the fact that what their numbers read is none of your business? A supposed to be used to measure gains from the baseline and then again after some mods. Comparing one dyno to another is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Don't bother replying because I don't intend to check in on this thread again.

Another message to the mods, I believe the rules need to be evenly enforced. If DB is allowed to act like that in the thread I linked, why do I get a warning (albeit not an infraction) for "being rude" when DB is obviously flaming other vendors?

Why does it matter to me.. Ill give you a quick scenario why it matters..

A customer walks in and says to me " hey how much $$ to make 400whp on pump gas".. I tell him XXX.00 and well need to swap turbo.. He looks at me and says swap turbo what do you mean?? Well we need to charge turbos to make 400whp cause it wont make it on pump gas.. he says " What are you talking about bro, TTP just posted 400hp on Pump gas and they have a low reading dyno".. I expect 420 on your dynojet easy..

Do you know what its like to have to deal with that?? You dont.. Im not going to get into it anymore.. Your not on our end of the business to see what we HONEST vendors go thru with setting customers expectations properly..

So im bored and just read this thread....and one thing really bothers me....

the Vendor F/S threads.....I HATE IT when they say PM to price. but then I read comment that it is illegal to post prices below MSRP? is that a 100% true statement? I mean its not a huge deal but when I'm browsing through F/S threads I rather just see the prices posted and not have to PM, its just annoying as hell. If it is a rule then I think it needs to be enforced for everyone. my 2 cents.

 

It's not going unchecked.....I look in on it every half hour or so. I feel that our members may need to see how some of our Vendors conduct themselves, so I am leaving it open so they may draw their own conclusions as to whom they want to do business with. After I think it has run its course, the thread will be looked at and appropriate steps taken..

It us true that manufacturers only allow a SET PRICE to be advertised.. if we want to sell it for less which is in some instances against their policy and we could lose account we must use PM for pricing.. If they Pm us and we re selling below their allowed price we could lose our account..

Certain items but not many i put Pm for pricing because it seems to change all the time.. Like exedy.. I get a different price from my supplier all week long.. Depends how hungry he is to sell to me so if i list too high i lose sales and too low i could lose all my profit.. hope this explains it a little bit.. Notice all my Buschur stuff i believe is a set price.. I have list of set prices so i know what i can sell it for.. sometimes i put Pm for pricing just so i can discuss options on that part so the customer understand why its priced that way.. IF list product A at 100.00 and another vendor lists it at 80.00 i lose the sale.. While that part might appear the same mine might have a slight upgrade that costs me more..

That thread is a great thread and it's because comments aren't being deleted simply because the poster is a little angry or someone with questionable intent is reporting inconvenient posts. That's a controversial topic but it needs to be there so people can understand that there's a lot more that goes on when going to a shop and getting a pretty dyno sheet. As consumers, we need more than just a bunch of bragging threads and blowout sales from vendors. I don't want to drive 8 hours to get tuned by a vendor and find out they have horrible and dishonest business practices (like i have before).

David Buschur is one of the greatest contributors to this site. I don't believe he is picking a fight with anyone on that thread. He, like many other vendors, feel obligated to educate customers on such a topic (WCF being worthless).

Yes, you have gotten infractions for nothing. So have I. You know why? Because someone reports your post and writes an elaborate justification. I've had that done to me. I've gotten an infraction for asking for uncorrected HP figures! Yes, I've gotten infractions for bashing and I was bashing, but I know at least one of my five was total horse ****.

It's just a result of arbitrary rule enforcement. WestSideBilly and a few other mods have helped me before, but there's only so much you can do as a simple member when you're going up against a vendor. I've had a member outright LIE (on behalf of the vendor, I suspect) and say I tried to start a fight with him on a review I posted. I have no proof I didn't start a fight so the comment is there forever. I can't do anything about it.

So the answer is: Vendors pay, you don't. They get preferential treatment and leniency.

I agree 100%. That thread can serve to educate consumers that the dyno sheet your favorite shop shows you can tell a story. It may surprise you.

At the bottom left of each post, there is a red triangle with a exclamation point. This is the "report post" button. If you feel that the post in question is breaking a forum rule, click on the button. On the next page, in the "message" box, write what rule they are breaking and there ya go.

 

Exactly correct. We rely on users to help watch over the forum as it's simply not possible for the mods to look at every post.

 

It may not be possible to look at every post, but selectively avoiding certain people and attacking others IS NOT the way it should be done.

Obviously, I am not alone in believe that the Mods on here pick and choose when and who to enforce rules against.

Then comes they way in which the Mods handle a situation. Often they are unprofessional, short, and frankly quite rude. Come on people LEAD BY EXAMPLE!

It is sad that we live in a society where E-Thugs, who most likely couldn't fight their way out of a cardboard box, rule the web with selective iron banning ability and sharp typing skills.

The Mods and Admin on this site need to be the shining example of stellar performance and display exactly the attitude of what you want the site to be like. If they employ bigotry in their decisions, certainly people will get very upset.

 

I know I have my huge share of points, some were legit and some are BS. I must say i agree with the OP on this one. The mods def do their share of treating everyone different.
