Ft Hood Evo Check-in
I guess the topic right now is engine build up bottom and top. Well Ill just say that in MY OPINION there are many options for us out there. Myself I think I will be sticking with Buschur. Reason being I baught his turbo setup even after everyone was telling me no and to keep getting ripped off by AMS. The turbo is amazing and I could be happier. All I can say is I have been ripped of like many other by AMS. Their turbo kits are capable of making more power with bigger hot sides, they know it but wount offer that option. All they care about is getting their name out there.
A 10% discount isnt much when they are ripping you off so they make up theier money. I wont lie I once was an AMS fan but know I can stand the fact that I allowed myself to get ripped off by them. Crate motor for $14K without installation, f**k that! Buschurs sells for $5K and you get to pick the internals for your head, cams, gear, etc. WAY cheaper than the AMS rip offs..........

AMS or Buschur.......Who can you trust
I heard crap about both and all the videos about Buschur in youtube. I guess is like any other business some people like you some don't. I just wish we had somebody near by.

Speaking of AMS, I was digging through their website today and noticed they have the mini battery kit. I'm sporting the RA and the MSRP is $179. Then I look it up for the Evo X and the MSRP is $149?!?!
I checked the specs, same dimensions, same power level, same setup? Thirty dollars more for the RA?

OK Is there any body in the Killeen area with a good tuning knowledge? I want to keep growing in this hobby of mine and my next step is tuning. Not trying to have somebody tune my car I just want to learn.
Well guys soceur77 and I have finished putting his cams in, we had some problems but we got them in. First start up wasnt a good one but after we (I did most of the work
) figured out the problem and retimed it, the car was running and sound good. Now all he needs is a good tune and his car will be even better. I never knew how easy it was to install them, I will never pay to have cams installed ever again. I could of saved so much money!Monkey You did all the work??!!!!

Well as already stated the cams are in. Was really an easy job. And to think, we saw a how to install cam video and was like hey we can do that....lol The bad start up after the cam install was due to a ID-10t error, but after some wtf! and damn its all around a corona and some Bob marley music in the back ground we fixed it in about 3o mins. We threw on the LICP ,and AP BOV and we were set. The initial drive was ok but it was sand baggin in the upper rpms. So today we decided to install the tbe. From here it got scary...as soon as I would start to run boost the car would hesitate and jerk. We figured it was just needing a tune. So I called Kevind and asked if he could sqaure me away today and he agreed. Although he felt that the car shouldnt be acting the way it was with what I had install. I drove up to Dallas, rather limped there and found that the car was in limp mode, but the reason for the boost reactions was due to the licp coupler not being the correct size, causing a major boost leak. The coupler used was the one I got from EPM. (Yea sabot I found the orginal...lol) By this time the car was runnning super rich, enough so that as he started the tune with me just idiling for about 5 mins while he tap away on his laptop I was creating a sidewalk of pure black soot. After a compression check, some new plugs and 7 3rd gear pulls he was done and i had the biggest grin on my face. Took all of 2 hours from start to finish. He cleared all the codes, the check engine light and gave me all the evo ecu goodies 2 step, overboost, raised rev limiter etc etc. Im running 23 pounds to 5300 rpms tapering to 16 pounds at 7000rpms. AFR are constant throughout the powerband. Big props to kevind for same day service and very good customer service and tips, such as if you ever blow of a IC pipe and cant put it on right away, you can disconnect ur maf and it will allow you to drive the car home or to the garage, just dont expect to win any races that way...lol Major props for my partner in crime in installations this 3 day weekend Efey Monkey CEO of DD....lol really though thanks Ceaser for the help and also kudos for his girl for keeping the drinks coming and our bellies fed. (Great cook) I dont know who has the fastest evo in Killeen, but i do know now that i dont have the slowest
Holla at you boys later!!

Now all you have to do is get your car lowered and take off that wing and you should be good
There's just one thing, last time I went in for some work at the Doper than dope shop there wasn't any Bob Marley playing in the background, lol. The shop does do same great work though, once I was done I felt like the Dark Knight driving around in the F117
No, your best bet is Cobb Plano if you want an AP or KevinD for ECUflash who is also in DFW.
