Question to you evo knowitalls, What's the general power difference between the 8's and 9's? I know the 9's have the mivec along w/ other things but how much difference does it make stock for stock? And their response to mods?

Curious.

 

mivec has 10 more hp.... and the turbo has a bigger hot side and compressor wheel so they do respond better..but the 4g63 in general loves mods!!!

 

I'll do a roll but to make it a bit interesting let's do this on a ramp you know the curvy ones


bigger hotside compare to 03-04s 05 come w a 10.5 hotside already. Also when it comes to mods they make a hell of power for less money. example buschur stage 1 for viii and a flash u get 300whp. same stage on a ix u get 330whp and with those numbers and a decent 60ft u are looking at 11s in 1/4. Viiis with cams and all get like 12.4

 

hotside helps alot.. i need to get cash to get my evo 9 turbo sent out to become 20glt!!!

 

evo's can handle but do you have the guts to take it to the limit you still haven't autox'd or nothing!

 

there was a thread about this and david himself told a guy with an evo 9 turbo that it was not worth doing the fp green because he would only get 20hp more.
due to $$$ issues fyi I don't have to take the evo to an autox/strip event to know what ican do with it, and I can handle mine don't u worry

 

Cool, thanks. I mean Laura's car only had intake and exhaust and when Jestr was done with it, it had 300awhp. Wish intake and exhaust did that to my car! Stupid ungodly small turbo.

damn, you wouldnt want to know how much i put into my car to get to 300whp... of course the 354lbs-ft of torque is nice. hoorah for that displacement! lol..
