Besides just having a bad axle, some of the only ways you can snap one under 400whp is from severe wheelhop, weak/failed motor mounts, clutch dumping, burnouts, and a turbo kit that hits way too much torque way too fast... but that last one would take you out of the 400whp range. 
Happened to a friend of mine. Was running some crazy turbo setup where right @ 3000rpms he would hit around 500lbs-ft of torque. After a few times of that happening on the dyno it shattered the clutch and snapped an axle. Was ugly.
Of course nothing compares to the Lujan Motorsports black SRT that put out 503whp. Exploded a flywheel and basically buzzsawed everything above it. Even busted a hole through the hood. Was nasty

Well I fullfilled my need... I feel sorry for that brand new C6 vette.. Young guy with a temp tag.. He thought his yellow was nicer than mine.. Well maybe it is, but I still put the hurtin on him.. He didn't know what happened..

One of my friends is singing at SOHO Lounge Saturday night and I will be on stage with her and a girl I work with. We will be her backup dancers.. so if you wanna have a good time, hear some sweet music, and see some skin (of course..) COME!!! Just don't drive the evo there if you can avoid it.. cos it's downtown lol. (South of I-195 and East of I-95).
