Can you get the OEM filter in any stores? Or do u gotta get it from a dealership? I just used whatever the equivalent one was, but I need to change my oil soon again.

been running 10w40 royal purple with fram filters. no problems here.

stick to OEM, its' $4.50 at the dealer...i usually pick up 3/4 at a time.

...OEM filters are found through dealer. "Whatever the equivalent one" will not cut it in an Evo. You've been warned lol

I only use OEM filter and Mobil 1.I've never had any problems.The key is to do it consistently.

I am currently using Penzzoil Platinum full synthetic and OEM filters. Pennzoil brand has consistently had good ratings in consumer reports, and several car Mags. OEM filters are supposedly the best. It's supposed to have a check valve that keeps oil from all draining into the pan.

PS Jeff how do you buy 75% of a filter? Is it like an aerodynamic Mini filter?

lol i was just thinking about that as well, maybe 3 out of a box of 4?
ive decided i will try royal purple, 10w40?

yeah i thought so, why would you use 10w40? is it better?...

yea i know the car sounds amazing on cold weather, and it wasnt even that cold, what is it about mid 50s
