Brian could run much faster that an 11.7, but many things come to play, tuning, tires, weather, a number of things, but none of them should matter to you, its not your ride, you arent helping with it and he isnt trying to say he has the fastest evo in town (which is true until cpd gets his ride down here or you get back).... he could comment equally on the way your car looks because there isnt a person in this town with an evo (all 20 or so) that can touch his visually or in the amount of mods both structurally, in the engine bay or on the body, again, not important to anyone but him, but, he isnt rubbing it in your face for that reason. there are so many things you need to realize, and for every comment you make that is lowballing or dirty, that is one more opinion that is formed about how you are, while you can be the greatest guy in the world to the people who dont know you yet, by how you are acting, they are always going to wonder what you are saying when they leave. That is terrible to say, but if you dont change your perspective or your demeanor, thats what will happen... and again, who cares what others think, but these are the people you mean to do business with when you start trying to tune. Your a great friend to have matt, when you are being one, and you are great friend to know for mechanical advice, but at some point in time... you are going to have to stop playing candyland and chutes in ladders and move on to trivial pursuit and scrabble. You have 2 kids, a wonderful wife, hell, a wonderful family and you arent acting like someone should be acting wearing the shoes you do.

and matt... the highest trap here was by brian at 121 i believe... semi decent weather, but not as cold... i trapped at 117.8 with my current mods the night i ran my 11.8,i even chirped tires in 3d gear lol... it was pretty cold, not as cold as lately, but pretty cold. i also think my tires are playing in my 1/4 mile times, when i had them balanced last, i got a good look at the tread and im missing most of my inner tread. waiting too long to have the car aligned after lowering it.... i've spent about 10000 miles on a misaligned evo, several track passes spinning tires and it shows. my fastest time as of late on pump gas, boost spiking to 25 holding 23 or 24 was a 12.5, but my tune was off and i didnt have my laptop to fix it a/f's were in low to mid 10's in 4th and not much better in 3rd

thanks for answering my question. i'd like to see someones run in alittle cooler weather, like NOV./DEC. reason being, seems like the 4g63's run better in warmer weather, minus humidity being high.

The night I snapped my axle I ran 11.8@120. Temp was in the low 50's if I remember correctly. The cooler weather didn't affect power output nearly as much as traction.

 

Low 50's? It felt like -20 that day hehe.

 

It might have been in the 40's but I never checked on it. It was pretty damn cold I know that much!

 

to answer this, honestly, i think that the cooler weather gives the cars without upgraded front mounts the same feeling it gives those of us with the front mounts... the only thing that seemed to improve was ET's ... my first run for the night during my 11.8 night was a 12.2 but i trapped nearly 118. I do have a FMIC though, but it i doubt makes the air any cooler when there are nights like that. Just keeps the IC from being heat soaked. I think the 4G63 runs stronger in the colder weather however you lose so much to traction that it is a negative gain. I wish you were back to try running on the NITTO's because everyone else is running a cheaper tire... I honestly felt like i could do a burnout before staging like the other cars lol. even my 11.8 run i spun like hell coming off the line. i had to revert to conventional launch techniques because the 2 step was pointless.
