Whassup my peeps? Just checkin in from Lake Tahoe. Reno was fun but I lost way too much money on the tables. (No Jason, I haven't play Hold'em yet)
Anyways, I'll be on and off...glad to see you got the car down here Shawn. Can't wait to run it.

BTW, if any of you see my car on the streets keep an eye out and let me know if my roommate is jacking around with it. I told him he could drive it to work and back since his truck is in the shop.

"Whats up guys. I'm planning on trying to reclass to another MOS when I get back from deployment. It just happens that the AIT is at Bragg and thats also where I'll be stationed afterwards too. I've been looking at off post housing and I've found a few pretty decent places, especially one called Jamestown Commons. I've only been down to Bragg for a weekend before so I don't really know much about the area. Anything you guys can tell me would be awesome. From info about the car scene to places to go at night to info about Bragg itself would be appreciated. Thanks guys."

^Not trying to double post, but I was directed to this thread as a better place to grab some answers on the above stuff. Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting some BC/HKS/Or GSC cams(272's) in the very near future. Any of you competent on a cam/stud install(Chris?hehe) or should I head over to H&H? I also need to look at my options for a tune after install...ideas?

After doing my head swap the cams are pretty easy. All ya really need is some new oil seals and timing belt tensioner tool. H&H has the one that Chris bought so you'll be able to use that one.
As far as tuning, you should indeed get it retuned. I think Chris@AMS is working with some guys in D.C. for a tune, you might be able to run up there for a day and have him retune ya. Probly cost ya $200 for the retune.

take a look at buschur's site.... they have what they are calling BR272's ... they are the same cams that cpd is running now and are putting out some amazing numbers apparently. Dave wont say where he is getting them from, nor will he give out a spec sheet. They come in a plain box and are ready to install.... if you are going to get cams, you might as well spend the money (which isnt much more) on what is working and making the best power. look into it.... also, from the buschur view, he sets timing at 0 and 0, so no real need to get adjustable cam gears either.

You must've missed the part where Dave said that his cams would serve no purpose on a stock turbo setup. They are designed for GT30's and larger. The idle will be worse than 280's.

Sean would be better off with some GSC or HKS 272 cams.

I just want a pair of cams that dont require springs and retainers...and these are my options...not sure about the buschur's. I'll be looking for a deal on a pair and see what Chris is doing and where he's at as far a tuning.

Stay away from Jun, Tomei or BR272's, every tuner has said you need a built head to use them.

Buddy Club, HKS and GSC will be good for your setup. I'd stay with 272's. Bigger is not always better, especially with cams.

hehe...like I said I'm going to stick with the BC's, GSC's or the HKS....I'm leaning towards the buddy clubs. A buddy of mine back home is using them on his rs with a 50 trim; tunes with an afc and his car pulls like a freight train, kinda like yours Brian...lol.
