www.dreamwater.com/mirage1 - the board (any comments by Dude in a mirage, listen up . . . learned some of my import stuff from him)

www.miragetuner.com - all the R&D we had done on our cars . . . some may be applicable from the 1.8 to the 2.0 . . .

For the reverse bulb, I don't know if it's the same. The 02 Lancers are just too new in the market. Read your owner's manual . . . it should tell you size type and look them accordingly. If it's not in there, I'll drop by Vero one of these days and take my reverse off and plug to yours for fitment.

First: how big the pipe diameter? How big is the hole diameter of the Weapon R filter?

The standard MAS adapter for the 2g eclipse has a circular opening is about 4.5 inches. All MAS from turbo and NA for Mitsu has the same rectangular bolt pattern.

As for stuff, I said some of the 1.8 stuff (from 97-01) may fit the Lancers. One thing, I did not buy my intake from them . . . bought mine from a company in TX, but they don't exist anymore.

I'll look again. Also, the MAS has to connect to the pipe near the original length of your stock plumbing. Too short or long will be bad.

Here's an example of the 1.8 plumbing should look (short, but that might be a generalized pic of their intake system).

www.vfaq.com - another site - just read the general stuff on mod-ding . . . similar performance theories may still apply to us NA guys, especially the fuel pump. I've learned a lot.

This friday, I don't think I'll make it. I blew one of my tires going to Bradenton for the 2nd afternoon trip. Also, it was too hot for me to run . . . wayy too many people banging in the 16 sec range. W/o exhaust work, I can't touch those times yet!

My new tires from tirerack probably won't arrive until friday.

Yooooooooo cory goto www.lancered.com
Get their number and give them a buzz.. Their outta Daytona.
Give them a ring before 1 o'clock and you you should have a brand new injen intake arriving on your doorstep next working day.
The intake i believe runs $265.00 or so.
Good luck dude.
Later.

Well, I didn't run, because the event was bracket racing with money on the line $60-70 entrance fee or something close, not Test and Tune. Also, I wasn't confident the weather would level off in coolness since my car is severely affected by hot weather. If it was colder, I'll definately put money on the line in bracket racing; hopefully, I can progress to the 2nd round quarter final.

If I ran that day, I pretty much know my times would range from 17.1 to 17.5 sec around mid 80's in speed. My car is tuned, so my fuel pump won't run rich and lightened all the stuff in the trunk (that's why I couldn't change my tire - no spare in trunk. It was at home).

As expected, I saw the modern 'stang with V6 and auto tranny running its best of 17.4 and the 'maro (V6 and auto) running its best of 17.1 sec. All sorts of trucks from dualies to old s-10 w/ V6 ran from 18.3 - 20 sec. Definately, I can beat those on a very bad day for me. NA 2g eclipse best run was 17.7 sec (could be auto - didn't pay attention too much). Of course, there was a Dodge Ram R/T . . . cranking in the low 15's. Ouch!!! That's scary!!!

The rest were H&A and Neons pumping various 15 -16 sec range. I know for sure all of them have header along with their I/E. Even with bracket racing handicap in my favor, I'm not arrogant to say my motor can keep those cars at bay across the finish line. W/o header for those car, my car in 5-6K rpm can hold them at bay.

Of course, there were 3 formats of racing, excluding tubbed out car, not street legal.

Grudge Match- heads-up w/o fee.
Bracket racing +15 sec (fee + payback for advancing)
Bracket racing -14.99 sec (fee + payback for advancing)

The above pic is a 4g mirage with awd and 4g63T. He's part of the local DSM chapter. His previous car was a 3g hatchback w/ a 4g63T transplant, but the car would lose so much traction that he decided to build AWD for the next car. The 3g constantly run in the low 12 sec on slicks.

I only saw 3 qualifying runs, not the elimination runs. Right out of the bat, he tore apart his competition off the line. Bang into the next gear with a short hiss like opening a can of soda . . . at the time of 11.53! Next run: 11.43 sec! The weather got a bit hotter: 11.5x. Unfortunately, my eyes aren't that good to read the MPH.

I wasn't able to find my mirage friends (thus no runs for me) from TB and Ft Lauderdale. From their reports, all the supra guys that day didn't want to challenge the yellow monster! Now, that's something. Of course, Supra guys in TB aren't as fast as the ones in O-town.
