hello KIDS!!! I have another kill. Well, this one was a hum dinger. I had never thought that I would of beatin it like I did. I was cruzin down Hillsboruo(sp?) minding my own bezz wax, when I spoted a red GS eclipes with the old body style. He was cruzin with his friend that had a Nissan Sentra GXE. Well...you know me! I had to start some shizzit. SO! I got in the middle of them both and showed them what the lancer can do. As we were hallin buns down the street we hit a red light
which I was hopeing for. It was the GS on the left, GXE in the middle, and THE "ES" on the right. He was talkin with his friend and then turned around and asked me if the lancer was AWD.
OK??? Told him no. At that piont, It was green. We left the line at the same time, as I got high
in RPM's I hear the GS make a sound that sounded like a blow off valuve???? hmmm. He started to gain in second, but as I hit third, he was in my rear view mirror. Well boys and girls, I have now been gettin respect for my lancer that it needs. Now the next step is the turbo...

but I had to print a pic for you people. As for the GS. Why on earth did it make a whisle sound when it was shiffting. I know It didn't have a turbo in it??? do tell ol teacher(that means you bahamut).

Hey guys, Seems like my car has been getting quicker after I hit 2000+ miles, is that the break-in period or something? Engine now goes up from 4.5-6 rpms from a standstill, before it could barely reach 4 rpms until I put the foot down the bottom. ANy explaination for this other than the break-in period? Thanks
The 1g eclipse with flip-up lights had 2 motors: the 4g37 (1.8, SOHC, 8 valves - not the same engine as mine, just looks like it with a distributor - 93 to 105 HP, not sure on the figure) and the 4g63T.
Strangely on the 1g eclipse, sometimes Mitsu misnamed their model. I know of 2 instances on our board that members had the 1g with GS sticker, but the car had AWD (should have been GSX) I can't account for oddities like that since those members provided pics of their 2nd car.
As for the whistling noise, I can explain it in 2 ways.
Judging from the comment (1g guy) to you about AWD, he has a 4g37 motor. All the die-hard DSM'ers that I know know the US spec Lancer doesn't have AWD. They wouldn't make that mistake in public. Frank, I bet you were snickering too on the inside!

Are you sure it was whistling because of the intake sucking more air at higher RPM before the shift point.
I have only experienced riding a 1g GS-T once. My friend in O-town had one with a slipping clutch/or bad tranny up to 3K rpm at most. It was still 2x the fast as my car, even with the handicap. The BOV should only hiss briefly like a snake or cat (being threaten) or opening a soda can at the same time when the shift is made. It shouldn't be before or after the shift (not tuned properly).
Let's for sake of argument that it was turbo, he must be running a measely 3 lbs of boost and not well-maintainced. Why run that low or not maintain the custom turbo?
Logically, I'm thinking home-made intake system. If it was TC, you would really know . . . the race was lost after 1st gear.

I will talk to the guy (pheno) in st pete if he wants to come . . . If I do come, I won't run my car. I need to break-in my new tires.
Also, I'll try to convince another guy in st pete (1.8L Quadman) who has a 1g DSM to come too.

I have only seen 1 lancer run in G'ville, a month ago. Don't know if it was stock ES or LS or which tranny (seems to be auto).
When the weather was cold, he ran 18.3x best. As the weather got hot, he slowed to 18.7x. Again, people do have their good and bad days.

Is It me, or dose everyone want to try me. I just kicked this Poniac Sunfire GT azz all over the street. It was a white sunfire that had white rims with dual mufflers out the back. Just like last night I was just cruzing down the road when he pulled up on my azz and stood their like he was sniffin it. Well I don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a azz kickin their. I drop a gear and started to pull from this guy. Caught a light and made it were he was in front. Then this is were I had my fun. As we were going down the street. He was tryin to pull away, and pull away, but I sttod on his azz for like 5 min straight. just ridding his ***
