Voided warrenty due to internet post
Was at the local Mitsu dealership today and commented on a sweet Red X MR in the shop bay. Tech laughs and says, "what that one?" and points at it. To make a long story short apparently the owner had the car flashed and now the check engine light is on and it is locked out of 4th gear- obviously owner wanted the repair covered under warrenty. Apparently the Mitu DM did some internet surfing and found some posts buy the owner about the flash and so on- DM voided the warrenty on the spot. Tech says it is probably a $10k fix cause car will need a new tranny. Damn-- be careful what you post.
i drove out the dealer to the gas station it got voided in les then 20 seconds and i brought it back a week later for an oil change and they said it was 1500 worth of damage to my turbo and it is not under warranty thanks to the best backed cars in America mitsu the greatest pos you can get.....
Unless they can prove that the flash caused 4th gear issues, it's illegal to void the entire warranty.
I bet it did cause the CEL however.
however i think this is a bs post, most mitsu dealerships aren't that dumb

mitsu. has worst customer service, subaru FTW my buddy bought a 04 used STI 2 days later spun 3 rods, then he towed the sti to a local subaru dealer and technically the warranty was voided 1 month earlier, subaru still covered the damages new block etc. mitsu would never do anything like that. p.s the sti had a perrin short ram intake.

What is warranty? Most people buy an EVO with the intent of modding anyway. Isn't that the point of these vehicles? You can't get mad at Mitsu alone for things not being covered under warranty. If you wanted to buy a car with good warranty and always get it covered there is always KIA or Hyundai.

Totally true, I promise;I have better things to do than make up stupid posts. I know the tech pretty well. He has preformed several services on my vehicle, although he refused to do my timing belt service because of my adjustable cam gears a couple of months ago.
my dealer replaced 5th gear and the synchros under warranty with all my mods
just be nice, don't go in with an attitude....if u act like a punk kit, there gonna treat u like one
