Intake and Throttle body porting

Sup Southeast! Sup Orlando! As a lot of you Orlando guys know, I'm in Iraq now and the problem I've just run into is since I can't decide on what turbo to go with I have the itch to do something else to the car until I decide on what turbo to go with. I've come to the conclusion to port my intake mani and T/B. Who do you (Orlando) suggest I take it to to have that done? Not worried about how long it will take as I can leave the car. Thats no problem. I just want to know who's going to do good work and at a fair price. How long does that procedure normally take?

thanks for the suggestions.

Well , not many in town are set-up to do good porting - we used to have all the tools but now we just have out of state porting shops do that work for us . Many are running 600hp+ on 100% stock manifolds so you may want to look at turbo options first and worry about porting later . Just my 2 cents

Thanks Xtreme. My goal is to get about 450-500 reliable hp out of it. once I get there I'll be happy. I hear you have a pretty good setup, what do you suggest (looking at what I already have and where Im at) my next steps should be to get there if porting isn't a must?

The porting will not get you much at your power goals but , you can get a green and call it a day ! A larger turbo will get you the power goal you seek and at a good boost level without too much stress .

i was looking at the red or the BBK for my next turbo. I hear a lot of good about the Red but like anything else I'm sure there is some bad. With the power that turbo has and can provide, I just want to be sure the engine will hold up. The BBK seems to be a bit milder of a turbo for the internals. Has anyone had problems with the Red yet? Blown engines etc?

Either will work and also , even with a stock turbo I've seen people blown their motors . Blowing a motor is a matter of tuning for the most part and NOT the size of the turbo . If you want to make sure your motor holds up just follow these notes:

1 : be sure you have a safe tune ( fuel and timing )

2: Be sure you boost according to your fuel ( X - amount of boost for pump gas and X amount for race/meth )

3 : If you see something odd you get the car checked-out right away .

4: Use good oil and the right weight according to time of year ( temp ) .

If you keep those things in mind you should be ok for a long time !

Not in your neck of the woods, but can be ordered online.....MIL.SPEC 65mm Throttle body and a Wilson v2 Manifold is a great combo.

I need to just get down to Orlando more often. 3.5 hour drive really isn't anything.
