I really appreciate it.

Hey it could be worse. I got to spend half of my birthday at the doctor's office!!

So I boost leak tested the car. I could hear air escaping pretty readily. We found a vacuum line behind the intake manifold that wasn't connected to anything just pouring out air. After plugging it up I couldn't hear anymore leaks. Took the car around the block and it felt no different. Still crappy.

I'm wondering where the vacuum line belongs. There is like a group of 2 or 3 vacuum lines behind the intake manifold. It was getting dark so I couldn't see too well. Anyone have any thoughts?? It's relatively short so it can't go very far from where it's kind of just hanging.

Most of that crap is EGR stuff. Mine kept poping off. There are a ton of hoses back there that can pop off. Reach back under the throttle body, there's 2 hoses there that like to come off. Then way down, and on the backside of the IM there's those same hoses, but they're routed through solenoids and all kinds of good stuff. Prob 8-10 different places a hose can pop off. They're mounted to gold colored mounting brackets on the backside of the engine.

+1. Most of that that your talking about it EGR stuff and most likely is. When we flash a car we can disable that with Tephra V7, helps clean up the engine bay and the car will still pass inspection.......with a cat installed of course. You still need to have AT LEAST a high flow cat under the car on the day of inspection.

While all that info is really helpful and I appreciate it a lot.....it sucks because now I'm not any closer to figuring out my car's BS problem lol. It feels like it's something stupid, but I have no idea what. Like if I shift fast the car tries to bog a bit sometimes. Like there's too much damn gas (might explain the horrible MPG).

I don't mind getting it retuned or whatever I need to do, but if it's another problem another tune isn't going to help me much is it??

Frustrating!!!

If it just came out of nowhere, do a boost leak test. You may have blown a coupler off after the MAF and it's going crazy trying to compensate for the un-metered air. Do you have a cable and computer to datalog?

IAC is bad or you have a massive leak somewhere, usually around the EGR components/lines. That's my guess. Since you have an 03 there is a pretty good chance it's your IAC

Anyone here that has a Evo 8 wants Carbon Fiber VIII lettering? Let me know. I cant use it and instead of just throwing it away, I figured I give it away. Its just the "VIII". First one to say they want it gets it, FREE!
