As per topic..

i would change the oil regardless. who knows how old the oil is plus you just finished breaking it in and after break in period you usually change the oil. you tend to find lil metal shavings in the oil

Don't take those maintenance lights literally... they are just reminders. It's not like your car is gonna explode. lol

It's probably just an initial inspection service. Some cars ask you to come in early for the first interval just to make sure everything is fine.

Haha yeah I know..

though somebody did mention to me that I -may- have an oil leak (though I don't notice any puddles), seeing that the notification fired 2000km's early.

Either way, call to dealer for peace of mind.

They talk about a procedure to reset the maintenance light here. I had it on my car... and eventually at one dealer visit they just turned it off completely.

the maintenance light comes up like every 3 months if you don't reset it.
Just reset it when you start up the car by pushing the info button

Na. Its the...

"Routine Maintenance Required" message that chimes in on the screen after starting car.. generally after the "Icy Roads" warning if my car is outside.
