Alternatives to Services

Any other alternatives to the 48K service for the Lancer? I just think the price for the service is soooo much and I can't really afford $400

shooting from the hip. it would be

* a brake service clean and inspect, replace if needed
* tranny service, drain and fill or full flush I highly recommend using performance fluid
* oil change

I am sure there are some more things, I dont have the manual in front of me.

what you dont have to worry about

* coolant isnt needed here, since we use long life fluid.

This stuff isnt cheap at the dealership, but some of these things you can do on your own.

I did mine in two parts at my independent service center. Find out whats needed for that service then you can do it anywhere. Keep the receipts for warranty purposes. Try splitting it up over two months to lessen the blow.

the fluid is hard to get . So in theory they can charge what ever they want. ENEOS is hard to get or i would recommend them. only option that is inexpensive and easy to get is Redline at JRP, its about 17 bucks a litre

A tip for the Cabin Air Filter - you can get older Nissan ones from Parts stores (CDN Tire, Partsource w/e)
