That's why it's leaking. The gasket from the undivided housing is allowing exhaust into wastegate side. Reinstall without gasket. Might not be as loud now either. Lmk

Did you reuse the stock gasket between the turbo and O2 housing, OR the stock donut gasket between the O2 and down pipe??

Sounds like you've reused the stock gasket between the turbo/O2 housing - which is the wrong thing to do. You need to install it with a divided gasket which should come with the O2 from new...

How can you ensure your turbo mating surface is exactly flat so there will be no leaking? Wouldn't it be easier to just include a gasket with the O2 especially for the price you're paying for it!! All the other O2s come with them...

Actually they all did not always come with gaskets. We installed probably 20 epm dumps and has better luck without the gasket. Never had a leak the the o2 side. It's cast and usually flat.

With that experience we opted to stay with no gasket on these. Dmoevo has no gasket and no leaks.

Mike,

I have maxed out the stock turbo on my setup! we did back to back runs at 30psi vs. 35psi and didn't even pick up 1hp. I have a 25psi wastegate and a ported megan O2 just to let you know. Since I have the 25psi wastegate; do you know if the wastegate is even open at redline? Trying to figure out if my wastegate will shut off after my spike! That would sound kind of funny with it open during 4-6k then closed from 6-8k. Thanks for your help!

we have installed dozens of dumps with no gasket.. they dont leak.. The hotside of the turbo will remain flat being cast and the dumps are machined flat.. They will not leak without a gasket.. Its no different than a t3 turbo hotsie that has 4 bolt downpipe.. there is no gasket.. they dont leak..

The wastgate must open at redline.. There is no way your car is holding 35psi to redline on a stock turbo.. This setup will allow the car to breathe in the upper Rpm's.. It will never shut off..

The Testing has not yet been complete as far as i know.. The car with shearer dump is not making as much boost to make the test accurate.. I beleive possibly the test car needs an upgraded actuator to get back the lost boost to figure out what the accurate test results are.. Along with tuning the new dump as well.. The dump is bolted on but no additional tuning was done yet..

I have always used gaskets on my turbo piping on previous cars. Usually its just a real thin SS gasket, i wouldn't go without one. Things might lay flush at first without a gasket but after a while the high temp distorts the flanges slightly and usually leaks. Nothing major really, just some black soot around the mating surface. The O2 dump looks nice, although i like the recirc better, not a fan of blowing exhaust into my engine bay. If i did use it, i would hook it up to an external WG and ditch the crappy internal style. But thats just me :P

Mike, I know you stated that the baseline of 427 was with a megan 02. Was the megan ported or not? Thanks.
