I just purchased 5 gallons of 104 from the pump yesterday and saw ALL my knock quickly vanish and my A/F drop by half a point... looks like it works fine to me.

Carefull testing and mesaurement today confirmed that the "race" gas that Bruno was using was in fact weaker than 93 octane pump gas

please elaborate on your fuel octane testing methodology

That is nice to know that you had a positive experience

My point is that in the vast majority of situations the end user / consumer is relying upon what is listed at the pump without any independant verification of what is in the tank

Here is one example of many

Octane testing flaws criticized; State lawmakers vow to protect

State lawmakers on Monday called Wisconsin's faulty octane testing program "extremely disturbing" and said they would do whatever it takes to ensure that the state's consumers don't get scammed at the gas pumps.

"We owe it to the public to make sure we follow up on this," said state Sen. Neal Kedzie (R-Town of La Grange), chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources and Transportation.

Kedzie and other legislators said they were unaware that the state's program has been dysfunctional for nearly a decade and that industry insiders suspect octane fraud in Wisconsin is widespread. They said they discovered it Monday when a story appeared in the Journal Sentinel.

"It was a rude awakening," Kedzie said, who also characterized the problem as "extremely disturbing." "What bothers me the most is that we have spent so much money on testing equipment that doesn't work, especially considering we've been dealing with such a tight budget."

In a story Monday, petroleum inspectors and industry insiders described how motorists who buy premium gas are sometimes swindled by gas station owners and delivery drivers who dilute high-octane fuel with low-grade gas. They can get away with it because the state Commerce Department's petroleum inspection equipment has been broken for years. The Commerce Department regulates petroleum products at the terminals where they enter the state as well as at the roughly 4,300 retail outlets.

Yesterday I was on the dyno for 10 hours and also trying to spend some time with Mr. Buschur so answering PM's was hard to do

I have answered your PM today

Your power seems normal for that dyno on 91 octane

I'm defenitely happy with the outcome yesterday. We got the boost leak fixed and found out the "100oct" gas was ****. I did put down some more power then before (updated in my sig) so of course happy with that.

The intake swap really did nothing. I had the Weapon-R Secret Weapon intake. It has another smaller tube inside the intake pipe which creates more velocity into the turbo (about 3x more) this is from the testing they performed. Any one can take a look at there write-up on weapon-r.com before you start speaking negatively about the intake. So Al made be buy a stock intake ($50), later on he told me "I guess I really didn't do much" So swapping out to stock did not increase hp/tp like he said.

So anyway i'de like to thank Al for re-tuning me and paying for the boost leak test, compression test, and cam timing. I couldn't be happier.

And thanks to Buschur for letting me come back to his shop even though he really didn't want me there.

I'll be back again once I get the rest of my mods and the new 20-g
