Anyone know if the 05s are still cast internals ?
The greens a turbo the FP makes...a hybrid turbo u might say, thats Mitsubishi based.

Yes the USDM STI have cast internals, but the not the normal "CAST" u would think off, i think they're sort of like those keith black pistons which r little stronger then normal units....but with the right tuning u can get 570+ hp on the motors and still be safe...i've heard of people pushing the motors past that point and having problems with the ring lands on the pistons/connecting rods..

well overseas and usdm internals are hypereurectic (sp?) cast pistons (basically silicon enriched metal)

the overseas sti hasn't been forged internals since the last generation sti

the 2005s will be the same. the prob is in the block of choice. it is a forester motor beefed up a bit. the jdm engine (real sti motor) is much stronger than us one and is smaller in dispalcment to boot.

I'm sure There is a large thread on it at nasioc in the 2.5L forum (about a year old thread).

Basically the APS website is looking at the last generation (version 7?) JDM/OzDM STi pistons and not the V8 JDM/OzDM STi pistons
