Yes, it's too bad the thread was locked/deleted (even as I was reading it). Actually this was a perfect topic for the "truth squad"..... Where are the truth seekers now? I think it's pretty sad how all the loud mouth mindless drones of each camp always come out with their respective personal insults and take the thread off topic.

This kind of discussion is important and useful. Personally, I did not know who X, Y or Z were, but I can definitely use some good information about the merits of one method of tuning vs another.... Sure, I have my opinions too and like anybody I like to see my pet theories supported. However, it's more important to find out the truth about stuff just to make sure we all are armed with the facts before making decisions that can prove costly and cause lots of unnecessary grief....

 

 

As a moderator on another forum, I can understand locking a thread.
But the Dynoflash game is to cry and complain and get threads deleted... Along with all the evidence, which is really unfortunate.

I like this forum a lot, but this is a major problem.

(consider the following thoughts while shaving)

sptsi (site owner) put the thread in the trash for review. Editing a 17 page thread is a lot of work. Plus, no matter how we edit or moderate, someone will claim bias and take exception. It would be preferable to have our members control their comments than rely on the moderators to clean up the mess. So I'm not anxious to spend an hour cleaning up another vendor trashing thread.

It truly is unfortunate that a reasonable discussion concerning road tuning versus dyno tuning cannot occur here; that agenda's and groupie's clog the conversation. The failure of our threads to remain on topic falls squarely on the evolved members of this site. You guys need take personal responsibility to control new members and some grumpy old ones. That can be done through tough love PM's and reporting post. You guys set the tone here, not the moderators. All we can do is clip the highs and lows.

Having the top tuners in the country accessible to our members is the greatest strength of Evom; and its greatest weakness. Until you guys (vendors) figure out how to control the adversarial competitiveness, we will continue to see threads such as this locked and trash. Thanks. (ouch..... cut myself).

Although i dont know shiv@vishnu personally, ive heard that he is one of those few people who does brilliant work so passionately...
so lets forget about personal insults and swollen egos... and continue to have healthy discussions!!

And I will say this yet again ... if the moderators feel like they are being overworked, THEN GET MORE MODERATORS. Laziness/lack of time is no excuse for outright deleting of threads. I will be glad to help moderate. Yes, it's a pain it the a$$ to try to run a somewhat clean forum, but that IS the job the moderators signed up for. If you can't handle it, then quit.

Deleting a thread such as the one referred to here takes away more from the site than leaving it up. I have seen this time-and-again where critical comments of Al have been wiped off the site. You might as well start calling the site dynoflashm.net instead of evolutionm.net ... there certainly isn't much evoloving going on.

I dont' think it should be deleted, I think there was some good info for someone to find, locked is one thing but not deleted.

Once again we allow the ignorance to continue on this site. Its quite sad that EvolutionM allows threads with miss information or threads that continue to miss guide current and future members.

There have been several times when other companies have reviewed other company’s products or tuning methods and it has turned into a pissing match. The majority of the time it was based on marking hype or miss information not backed by data. Shiv made a point to back up his claims with data and research without using the names of other companies in question or hype. What Shiv did was a service for the Evo community, and he rarely does comparisons like these. Its sad when other companies are able to get away with much more harsh threads almost on a daily basis.

The least that should happen is bring back Shiv's original post and lock it.

Oh, just so it doesnt look like I edited my post, I think that Shiv shouldnt stoop to Als level. Honestly, Shiv, we have rarely if ever spoken....And Al, we have spoken quite a bit.

Unbiased, I feel both you guys do great work. No matter whom you ask though, its subject to personal experience and opinions. Really....if you guys cleaned up the name calling and circumstancial evidence like (BOOST LEAKS) and argued the facts, this board would be a better place.

I do not feel i was saying anything other than they should either A get into a conference call or a room and hash/duke it out or just stop talking to each other.

Constantly making ones self look better by mishap of others is not success. Shiv always seems to maintain a low profile, but Al gets him going. So nobody I think is an instigator here, Shiv knows the desied reaction he'll get from Al, thats proven, and Al knows how to stir the pot.

its incredibly unfair that they deleted the thread! there where questions asked to AL which he never honestly answered.
what i value on that past thread the most, is that the customer presented himself and said he was happier with the dynotune vishnu gave him! so by that time i think the thread should of ended!!
