Overtime we will see, but I'm most amazed at the consistent reliable performance throughout the One Lap Events of Shiv's Evo. That may be the most under appreciated feat of that little red grocery getter!

Speedlimit...
Like I said in my previous post I wasn't able to find the Laptimes at first and was misinformed by the C&D comment about twice the HP.
But I have to say that in case that there was actually only 100-150HP difference the driver shouldn't have lost up to 10 secs a lap...unless they really messed up their setup on the Subie.

but about the higher HP leveles being reliable I would love to hear what Shiv has to add to this, since they are working on both cars?Shiv?

For those that don't want to dig through it all, here are Paul/Shiv's times compared to the closest competitor in their class for each Event: (excluding the wet skidpad, because we all know how that turned out...)

Heartland Park #1:
Vishnu Evo: 5:03.183 (1st in class, and overall)
2nd in Class: 5:13.514
That's more than 10 seconds...

Heartland Park #2:
Vishnu Evo: 4:58.435 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 5:11.369
Almost 13 seconds...

Heartland Park #3: (drags)
Vishnu Evo: 0:12.179 (1st in class, and overall)
2nd in Class: 0:13.041

Bracket Drags:
Vishnu Evo: 6th .... awwww....

PPIR #1:
Vishnu Evo: 3:14.042 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 3:27.212
...over 13 seconds...

PPIR #2:
Vishnu Evo: 3:12.200 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 3:22.430
...over 10 seconds...

Sears Point:
Vishnu Evo: 9:37.027 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 10:02.343
...that's 25 seconds...

Las Vegas #1:
Vishnu Evo: 5:40.610 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 5:55.991
...15 seconds...

Las Vegas #2:
Vishnu Evo: 5:41.624 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 5:52.927
...11 seconds...

Pueblo #1:
Vishnu Evo: 5:20.687 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 5:28.692
...only 8 seconds, they're getting closer!

Pueblo #2:
Vishnu Evo: 5:18.910 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 5:22.102
...less than 4 seconds...close!

Hallett #1:
Vishnu Evo: 4:26.752 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 4:40.897
...over 14 seconds...not so close.

Hallett #2:
Vishnu Evo: 4:31.596 (1st in class)
2nd in Class: 4:35.963
...about 4 seconds...

Road America #1:
Vishnu Evo: 8:15.111 (1st in class, see a pattern here?)
2nd in Class: 8:28.143
...13 seconds back, ouch.

Dry Skidpad:
Vishnu Evo: 1.010 G (1st in class, again)
2nd in Class: 0.959 G

Well.

Short of the wet skidpad mishaps, I think it is a fair statement to say that Shiv's Evo piloted by Paul totally dominated their class. In fact, I would characterize it as an "a$$ whooping". Perhaps you could liken it to clubbing baby seals. Very rarely during the competition was 2nd place even a threat, to say nothing about the rest of the class. There were 13 cars in the class, where were the rest of them?

Yea, I may sound like an a$$hole, but I give credit where credit is due. Damn fine job Paul and Shiv. You have raised the bar. It's going to be MUCH tougher next year, those guys aren't going to take it laying down. I trust you won't be near last in the wet skidpad next year either...

Again, nice job guys. Your determination and professionalism has earned by admiration, as soon as I get an Evo... it will earn my business as well.

No pun against your car and effort BTW, just thought that the A$$whooping comment was a bit harsh.

Actually only become interested 'bout this tread since I have been researching your website trying make a decision on what car I am going to be purchasing. Subie or EVO. Will be the first car I am having to buy, and wanna make sure that it can have the right performance.
I prefer the EVO overall, just the looks are a bit of a turn off to me...The WRC look would be the right one...can't have it all.

Once again good luck in the shoot out

Cheers

AGAIN - As I wrote before - I wasn't able to pull up the laptimes, and was vastly misinformed by the C&D blurb about twice the HP over the Subie...got it?

Thanks for pulling up the laptimes and calculations. Actually the Subie was a lot closer than 10secs a lap. more like 2-5 secs which is now all clearer to me. I agree it was some kind of a whooping. It is CERTAINLY reasonable to say that they totally dominated their class, as well as the almost the entire class.

BTW did the Subie also run on racefuel and have an onboard "pitcrew" as well as a capable driver?

Cheers

Mike

What on-board "pit crew" are you referring to? Me? I'm about as mechanically inclined as a one-armed monkey. I think that is well known by now

I'm not raking on you, just thought I'd post a summary of the times and add my 2cents. The C&D blurb was very misleading and tries to make the competition sound closer than it really was. (IMO) It was close in points because of the 1st event, but in reality the speed difference was substantial.

The Subie team really gets my congrats as well, they were very consistent and finished in or near the top 10 for most of the events. They will need to be much faster next year though... and I'm sure the planning has already begun.

no... but a huge soccer player/fan. And honestly, England is the closest place to see football worth watching! My wife's father is from Spain, and she lived in Barcelona for several years, so I also closely follow the Liga. Barça and the Gunners are teams that I've always liked, and watching Henry play is like watching a one-man symphony.

At the very least I think you should look into a sheet metal intake manifold. I am sure one of the companies would like to help you guys out with all of the coverage the car is getting. That would be a nice chunk of power at this level. Throw in some alky injection and hope she holds together.
