Car and Driver Supertuner shootout competitors
Shiv,
Does your red car still have a bone stock bottom end? If so, that may be one area that Pesto has a legit point. What could a built bottom end offer for this competition if you are stuck with pump gas?
What do you put the price of mods on the red car at? Could you claim total price of the car with mods at around 45,000 or would 50,000 be closer? Either way, your car costs less than any of the competitions' BASE price. Price point is a great C & D angle.

) are involved, there no reason to build the bottom end. All that would do is to add another variable to a package which has already proven to be reliable. About the only thing that could help would be a stroker but the one and only 2.3L stroker car we have running belongs to a customer. Plus, I think it's more interesting to us and our customers to enter a car that doesn't have a $10k engine.

Front&Rear diffs (~$3200)
Exedy clutch ($1400)
GT turbo and tubular manifold (~$3500)
Custom exhaust with ext. wastegate ($2000)
Upgraded IC and raditor (~$1600)
Cams, gears, rod bolts and headstuds (~$1000)
Ohlins suspension with custom top hats (~$2500)
2 piece front rotors (~$500)
Wheels/tires ($TBA)
Sway bars (~$400)
XEDE ($900)
XEDEFlash ($100)
Fuel pump/injectors ($600)
Boost gauge ($100)
I think that works out to be around $45-50k plus labor/tuning. About the same price as a stock but fully loaded E46 M3

I tend to think a sorted evo like Shiv's car might surprise everyone when it comes down to it..From what Brett was describing earlier in this post about what the car will be expected to do...it sounds as though the Vishnu evo will be well suited to the tasks at hand...and with Paul at the helm also.....It will be very interesting...have fun guys

Oh, and thanks for the advice Shiv....Computer dog clutch worked

There is virtually no weight reduction on the car besides the removal of the front and rear bumper reinforcements. The rear seat cushion was removed for One Lap since we were required to mount a fire extinguisher. It weighs several times more than the seat cushion we removed
Oh yeah, the 2 piece brake rotors way a few pounds less than the stock one piece rotors.
Without going drastic and gutting door panels and dashboards (which i refuse to do since we're talking about my daily driver), there isn't much weight to take out of the EVO. I suppose I could take the AC compressor and condensor out but it saved our live on One Lap when driving through TX and Nevada.

Yo... Don't forget guys that Shiv was already hanging with race-prepped Porsche TTs, Vipers and Z06 at one lap... I think this is going to be great!
Chris... my wife loves your new Avatar... she used to have that pic as her background on our old computer!

I don't know why this tuner pissing match is brought into every legitimate conversation on this board. I certainly hope it does not take away from the achievement being made by Vishnu.
Shiv (and team) congratulations. You are truly playing with the big boys (I mean c'mon, Ligenfelter, a freakin ENZO), growing your business and reputation, and hopefully increasing the resale value of our cars. This is a great honor and I know you will "represent".
Now, give us some spoilers, what kind of 0-60, 1/4 mile, 0-150-0 times, etc. do you expect? I know your worried about the 100 - 150 times, but is there anything else that concerns you (wet skidpad anyone
)?
Good luck in the competition, and don't let anyone take away from the fact that just being invited is a huge win in itself.

I've got a bunch of works stuff on my car and I'm behind you 100%. This whole tuner bashing crap got old months ago. First one lap, now tuner challenge, hopefully SCC's ultimate street car. The evo needs to stake its place in the U.S. as one of the top performing cars and Shiv & Paul are the guys doing it. Good luck and make us proud.
I posted this link in another thread, but I thought I should share these videos, as they are quite impressive.
Shiv, one of the sales guys in my office forwarded these to me. You might not want to watch as the Hennessey Vipers are scary fast.

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck in the C&D Shootout and hopefully we'll see you next week at the SCC Ultimate Street Car Challenge.
