Buschur/Dynoflash/SMC alky kit problem?

I really want to see where the limits of water is and if it is able to stand up to the challenge of pure R-OH. Deal?
I wish i'm a better driver at the track so that 1/4mi times can also be included...but my track skills sucks.

I have a lot of goals in mind when tuning and the first and foremost is engine reliability. Anyone who has priced the cost of a engine replacement job will appreciate that my # 1 principle and objective is to assure that 100% reliability is achived.
With that said - certainly I am a huge fan of fast evos and i beleive there are many examples of evos which I have tuned making nice power - look at the dyno sheet posted by one of my customers above as a perfect example of a road tuned car on alcohol with stock turbo and independantly dyno verified on a dyno which can not be manipulated, adjusted or changed in any fashion.
I look at mustang dynos as a tuning tool only as you can not use the numbers obtained with any reliability unless you know the settings that are used on the calibration correction which can be changed in 5 seconds.
I guess I am trying to say is that when I am tuning at vivid my only goal will be to do my best to satisfy fully a customer who has worked with me in the past and who is a super good guy and who deserves only the best work I can do on his car. i am not interested in competing in any dyno contest on two seperate cars with totally different modifications.
With this said, slow car, I have been following your posts and I admire and respect the work you are doing with water injection and I have learned a lot from the informative information which you have posted. I certainly have no conflict with you and would only hope that your car project meets and exceeds all of your expectations and that you continue to report back with your progress.
As far as contests of speed and power go - I attend just about every Evo race of any merrit throught the year and I am ready any time to face off against any evo who wants to see about how much power you can make with methanol. The car I would chose is not a customer who drives his car every day - but my own which is designed to race a few races each year and then come apart.

apples to apples, oranges to oranges, stock turbo to stock turbo.....name me the ppl on here that has a turbo as humangous(sp?) as yours AND running the same alky kit as you? You prolly will run 9.983 w/o the alky kit.

BUT - I lasted all through the racing season on the same engine this year till I broke a rocker arm in the final of the wrx vs evo shoot out
I use the alcohol as there is no reason NOT to run it - it helps to prevent knock and it cools in intake charge on a car with super high boost on a small turbo generating lots of hot air
BTW - in the last race of the year - NOPI race I was not allowed to run the alcohol and ran C-16
On race gas the gains from alcohol are nominal - but there is no reason not to add it

I'm eager to see your baseline. With that leak on your FMIC pipe fixed/ weak spring on your Hallman replaced(maybe?), you should see a lot more power.

PJ ? are you getting tune on the 4th also?
Abner(slowcar),
I truly don't want to force my engine to make my car a dyno queen. I don't want to be a casualty of power EGO, many people had blown their engines trying to get their ultimate power figures.
I am just focusing on having a reliable , driveable car, something that I don't have to f$ck around with a note book, a datalog, a new software, a new map for this gas etc, etc.
Unlike PJ, my car will have a different power demands, I want to sacrifice power over reliability.
Again, you are welcome to show up on Dec the 4th, I can sponsor your gas and food. It will be nice to have you there. By the way, I think PJ has potencial to make huge power, have you seen his signature?
My SMC has shipped already and it should be here tomorrow of next day.

Relaxxxx Carlos, Al has made it clear that his #1 goal is 100% reliability - you can ZzzZZZzzzzz in peace.
I have nothing planned for the 4th, might round up a few tucson evos, go hangout at vivid.
Good luck with installation. Drive around the next few days with the nozzle on the windshield to make sure everything functioning correctly - come to my work, will give you a few gallons of 18 Mohm DI water, will not spot your windshield, purge water out when you put your 100% r-oh. Dyno day is for tuning, not trouble shooting.

Well put !
I specifically used the word "supplimenting". It just meant replacing some gasoline with methanol as a blended fuel. Water is not a fuel, it can only work as an "effective" octane enhancer and not "supplimenting". In that context, there is "no contest". It is not possible to compare the two.
At present, there are two systems, the difference is one is also used as a fuel suppliment. Alcohol injection requires a great deal of fuel leaning to be effective and water injection doesn't . If you stop injecting, the alcohol injected car cannot run properly. Why not just inject pure water and add methanol to your tank.

No contest, water cannot compete with alcohol when the purpose is for supplimenting the pump fuel's octane rating. It is like comparing injecting gasoline against injecting methanol or injecting methanol and nitromethane.

It seems that many of your are interested in the w/a injection application but has anyone consider the implications when the system fails to deliver - there is no discussion of a "plan B" ?
