don't you have to be tuned to run higher octane to actually gain power? I'm not sure that just putting in 93 or 100 would net any gains without being tuned for it. Correct me if I'm wrong though

 

Thats what im thinking. I believe you could run more boost w/o knock, but not sure what that would do w/o a tune.

 

A 100oct map has more timing and boost .If not tuned for it you wont get the full advantage of running 100 oct.

 

Thats what i thought. Ive got a Jestr 93 map still on my comp. I may do some 93 before the VC run.

Very good tune, but did have some knock. I made 272 on a DynoDynamics (close to 310 or so on a DynoJet) which was just a little less than my friends 05 with the same mods (TBE, intake, MBC ) only he had a FMIC and an Xede. I see why he upped his price and im glad he did, so now you dont have to pay the huge amount of money for a subscription and still get a few revisions if your getting knock.

Just for reference i got tuned in GA by Dyno4mance for 91 oct and i made 252 on a DynoDynamics. Anyone think SpeedElement could get me more hp?

In short, buschur stage 4, hks 272's, cam gears, race fmic w all piping, arp headstuds, tbe w hfc, mbc, and just installed ported green turbo w/ hd actuator with ported/coated exhaust manifold, 780 injectors, and sun auto hyper force. I know I'm forgetting a few things but its late and can't think very well. (Working late shift on a friday night sux hahaha)

^^^ That sucks for both... (working late and not having the Evo). I guess ill just have to judge from the before and after tune. The tune i have right now is really conservative due to that fact that we had to "make" 91 oct by mixing 93 and 89. Not the best way, but he has done it before with great results. Just wanting to see if SpeedElement can do any better.

Nice! I need to get more parts before i can justify spending another 400 bucks for a tune... I need more work... Who needs a detail?

 

I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday so I plan on getting the detail done then.
