At shepherd they told me that my t case went out because they gave me the wrong oil at allison mitsubishi(75w85). They told me that ,that oil was too thin. The correct oil to use is (lsd 90w). I went to allison and they denied it.They said that 75w85 is correct one to use. I even checked in the owners manual for t-case oil and it says to use lsd w90.
that makes me wanna shoot someone!!!!, 4000 miles ago i went to allison to get the lsd oil, they gave me the diaqeen 75w85., i made sure to ask if that is the right one and they said that it was.....FUUCKERS!!!! when i drained my TC the other day it DID look very thin!, man this really sucks...., so should i take my TC off and send it to shep now?, i looked at the owners manual and it say on there 85W OR 90W.....but the actual service manual says 90W......

Thats unbelievable!! Allison sold you guys transmission fluid to put in your T-case! I just checked my can I bought from there and it is sae 90 LSD gear oil(says it on the can) ...I never go there w/out part#'s or knowing exactly what I need to buy, because they always tell me stuff I know is wrong

You both need to go down there and tell them your going to take them to court if you don't get it replaced for free!!Bring as much info (shep's statement) and receipts(if possible) for the wrong oil bought knowing it was to be used to replace t-case oil and rear diff.

That sucks man! You didnt happen to save some of the oil that you drained out of the tcase did you? If you did you can take it to them and show them how damn thin it is.

What would be the bearing plate? 1st time ive heard that term. Would it be the part that actually holds the struts to the car up top (3 screws)?

I got a question. In the Bay I could go to Speed Element, Vishnu or Works for a tune or I could stay local and tune w/ Mellon. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Do any of you take your cars out to RFR for test and tune?
I have the perfect person that can tune your car locally. He has tuned a lot of cars and he also tunes my car. Let me know if you want it done. Just give me a list of your mods. If you have a wideband great if not just get the bung welding in and we can use ours.

My t-case went out 1,000 miles after i replaced my clutch and filled my t-case with the thin 75w85 oil that they sold me at allison. Shepherd told me that it was the oils fault that the t case was destroyed. I paid $2,550 for a new t case from shepherd. At allison they denied this saying that 75w85 was the corrcect oil to use. Another local guy that i know also destroyed his transfer case. I will ask him what oil he used. I will try to find the receipt and/or i will email shepherdracing.com. We should get allison to pay or take them to court!

This makes me seems really stupid since i have a diploma in automotive technology, but was honestly never taught how to align them. We probably should have marked their position before we removed them correct? So i guess now its just a matter of taking the strut on and off until they are aligned and stop popping?
