What is the process for this exactly? Cause my lifters are way loud, I think I may need to do this.

Is there a company that sells det cans? I used a home built pair before, and they are ok, but on a dyno I can hear the motor better with them off.

It may have been the ones I was using though, but I am un-aware of any professional product made.

Yah that's pretty common, at any rate they're not hard to bleed, and if it didn't get done before it doesn't hurt to do it now. Just make sure you get them all filled up again before you start romping on it after.

You could even have a collapsed lifter if they didn't get bled before, the pressure on them can blow out the internal seal. It'll tick at low rpm and/or when the engine is cold since that's when oil pressure is lowest. When you get into higher RPM or warm engine conditions, there's enough pressure to pump the lifter back up again if it's collapsed.

Cam break in is more prevalent with flat tappet style cams which are common in pushrod V8's. Still not a bad idea though.

Supposedly it can cause phantom knock and power loss (from pulled timing etc.), but I don't know that it will hurt anything necessarily. But I haven't looked too deep into what it causes, so someone else probably knows more than I do.
