For anyone interested, Porsche Club is having an open track day July 20. They need more people to sign up or they will cancel the track day. This means that the runs groups are going to be small so the track should be wide open.

Go to http://int.pca.org for more info.

I went to their track day in June and had a blast. Instruction was very good and everyone had a good time. It's also fun passing people who paid twice as much for their car.

orly, Are you going? How much are they charging? Still the 185 standard?

Edit: looks like it is 195. and looks like only 38% full Anyone else wanna track day? Its a better deal than SCCA (1 session ~ 39 dollars, instead of 1 session ~41 dollars) 5 sessions instead of 4.

PS convertibles are allowed w/ factory roll protection

I'm not going to be there. I don't know when the next time I'll be at the track is. I'd like to go a few more times this summer but I have neglected the house work so I need to catch up on that. I may try to get to the SCCA day in August. I'm planning on doing the Full Track on Sept 26 with the Porsche club or possibly do the Miller Open track day on Oct 1 (also Full track).

The PCA days are a great deal with excellent instruction and lots of time on track (5 sessions).

Here is an email I just got 10 minutes ago. I believe the cost is $125 and gives the same amount of track time as SCCA track days but there is the oportunity to win prizes.

Hundreds of dollars in gift certificates from Rally Sport Direct will be rewarded to the fastest competitors from 3 different classes FWD(Front Wheel Drive), RWD(Read Wheel Drive) and AWD(All Wheel Drive).

When: Saturday, July 26th From Noon-6:00 pm
Where: Miller Motorsports Park

I could do decent, but I'd be the bottom of the totem for sure, maybe top of everyone running normalish street tires With some RA-1s... It'd be a different story... Still wouldn't be top, especially with Todd running, but I bet I could whip out some mean times in the Porsche with some decent tires.

All in the driver nothing to do with the tires. Come on Dallin, even you should know that the ONE thing a driver cannot make up for is the insane difference in tires. Even if you are an awful driver, you're guarenteed to gain from upgrading your tires.

And I bet your Evo is a tad bit faster than the Porsche
I know I know Tires are all the difference with the same driver and car but running different tires. I was just saying you are a super driver and dont need tires to help you out

and if I ever get the evo running right and tuned good then it may be a bit faster than your Porsche but you will get me in turns and in arrow dynamics of your car. and your a much better driver than I. I can only do go-karts
