Ive just been reading and everyone is all over the place with plugs. Some say go platinum some say not too, one thread from David Buschur says no platinum run the cheap plugs. I just dont wanna spend $50 plus on plugs if they arent worth it.

I usually get 250-270 too, if I do a lot of freeway driving I can hit just over 300 before the fuel light comes on.

those plugs that you mentioned are for evo 8's correct? i have an evo 9, so i beleive the ngk ILFR7H is what comes with the car from the factory. evo 9 plugs are longer than the evo 8 plugs. they won't work in my motor.

The reason you buy ilfr7h is because they last longer, the design of the tip reduces the build up of burnt fuel... the colder your plugs get the harder it is for them to perform as a daily plug, because they are so cold when you idle you get this excess build up of residue causing them to foul. Also You can run a tighter gap and still have a decent idle. Less misfires as well.

I remember having to change the plugs in my del slow every month because of the build up. I guess i was on a base map so it could have not been such a problem if i were tune and burning not so rich.

For racecar they are ok for a daily not so much = ) but yes the fancy plugs they are alot of money
