Don't let me raz ya too much ... "port and polish" on an intake is one of the funniest word combos of the 20th century. My '79 Camero driving bro-in-law says it all of the time like its supposed to be a new-and-improved and always used contraction ... "port and polish" is rattled off like "Portinpolish" which comes out sounding like "Pert 'N' Pawlish". This is great for relationships, but not for intakes.
-- From a random website on BMW Head Modifications: "If you want it to perform, don't! Here's why. As the fuel and air mixture runs along the smooth walls of the polished port, it will be pulled out of suspension."
Intake - Pert 'N' Pawlish = Bad
Exhaust - Pert 'N' Pawlish = Good
Glad I could be useless this afternoon.
Anybody want to resurrect the HP vs. Torque debate again?

Torque gives you acceleration, horsepower gives you your top speed (why do you think diesels do great at the drag strip). Unless you run at Bonneville a torque monster would be more fun, corner to corner, light to light, drag strip, the only thing a high horsepower with a short powerband is good for is the Salt Flats! But you guys need gearing to bring out the best in either engine.

I went in a roll of this stuff with a buddy of mine who is going to make a template to over all the holes left by his 06 STI... which are a helluva lot more holes than we have heheh.
At any rate, I'm going to make a template out of the bottom of the wing where it meets up with the trunk to make these little triangle patterns to put over all the holes. My hope is that rather than trying to blend it in, by making them stand out with something flashy it may not necessarily look so bad... I'll post up pics when I get it done.
also, these forums have been strugglin' lately.
NEED HELP! hey can anyone re tune me on 91 with in the next few days.. I gotta drive to Cheyenne and back again and have a 93 tune.. Does anyone know if I will get detonation being here in Utah and WY since we up so high in elevation?? Does it really matter? Damn this 93 tune is so much better than the stock also.. I don't have any maps or cables, but I'd be glad to pay someone for their time and the map.. I live in Utah County but will drive to SL County or anywhere with in a couple hours.. I'd like to keep the launch control at 5800RPM on since I have Evo8 that normally don't have it..
My cars pretty much stock.. catless turbo back exhaust, intake, intercooler piping.
Thanks if anyone knows anyone or can help.. --peace--

Yeah, if you want to keep your 93 map, and are just driving up and back, may as well just stay off the throttle. The ECU will compensate enough that you shouldn't have anything serious happen as long as you aren't racing around.
