Utah Evos
jared, when i install the tclamps i'll just see where my boost is. if its not back to norm than i'll do a boost leak tester. thanks 4 offering. yeah i do like throttle steer but not that much! that car was a beast to keep under control. it was fun tho even tho my times suffered...
Anyone have a link to state safety inspection laws? Supposedly the back window's tint can't go over the brake light at all, now with an exacto knife that would be an easy fix on a lot of cars, but our brake light is pressed up almost against the glass, and that's bad... If that's the case, does anyone know of a quick place that'll take that little teenie strip of tinting off for me?
Oh, and Jiffy Lube "couldn't find the cat" so as soon as I put the stock cat in, they'll pass it... other than those two things, it passed everything else

Sucka foo, you should have asked to borrow my "Insta-cat". I have my heat shield taken apart ready to be slipped over a test-pipe. They looked at my "cat" carefully and didn't notice that it was just a heat shield.
Take your car to the shop that tinted the windows and tell them to fix it. At least you don't have to peel the dealer installed tint off your front windows!

Ray,
You're welcome to borrow the boost leak tester I made. That way you can test all the fittings when you put the t-clamps on. I'll bring it to work tomorrow and drop it by the shop. Then you won't have to wonder if you still have a leak. I was wondering if you really liked your car that loose in the back end? You said you liked to throttle steer! That sucks though.
Zach,
Do you want me to bring back the part today or tomorrow?
Anyway, auto-x was super fun. I finished off my front tires, they are almost slicks now. I'd really like some race tires and camber plates so I could run at full potential. That was my 2nd auto-x, my first one I could care less about times and just wanted to have fun. I thought that was the way to go. Now all you competive sum-bitc-hs are making me want to run fast times and buy race tires. I hate you guys.

Yeah after they said they used regular GL-5 in the transfer case and rear diff I went to AutoZone and got some Castrol GL-5. I put Pennzoil Synchromesh GL-4 in the tranny.
woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!! Found me some replacement parts for the GTi at the junkyard today...................................it was funny to see the people's faces when I was pulling parts off of cars in my dress blues uniform
Jared... how does it "slip" over? Like I said, they just want it to look like I have a cat because they weren't too bright, they thought the testpipe might even be a cat, if I had the shop that installed the testpipe sign some paper saying it was a cat, they'd pass me, if they see something that looks like a cat, it'll pass... if you have to remove the testpipe though, then I'll just do that and put the stock cat in... and it came stock tinted to what it did... and passed Utah safety before we bought it... so, at some point it passed when it shouldn't have passed.

And good luck on the arranging of a meet
And does anyone know anywhere good to get that teenie strip of tint removed that won't charge an arm and a leg (the whole rear window has to be removed because the... well, I already said it)?

Jeremy, that's cuz you don't have any real "cities" so you can pollute all you want and they don't care... and you can have as much tint as you want cuz no one wants to look into other peoples' cars
