So I'll need to take it in soon before my warranty goes out. I just moved here and don't know who to go to or who to avoid. Thanks!
2nd, 3rd, and 5th are the ones that normally go. Do a search on google and it should bring up the TSB number. I read a TSB after i got my tranny back from John Sheppard at www.sheptrans.com I needed a new t.case too because of teeth missing on the ring. Check out the Shep's site so you can see what kind of prices to expect if the dealer refuses to cover it.

EDIT: Ok did a search and the TSB I was thinking about is on the 3rd Gen Eclipse GT (2000-2005) there is currently NO TSB for the Mitsu. Lan. Evo. VIII only service tech notes.

My car has a bad rattle too at idle, some people even say it sounds like a rod-knock

disconnect the throttle cable from the two clamps on the valve cover and flip/slip it under the strut bar....cleans up the engine bay and you lose the "rod Knock" at the same time.

It's kind of an inside Joke. The exedy cerametalic twin disc makes a lot of noise, and we often refer to it as "rod-knock"

Good tip though, some of you guy's who may not have done so already should do what Robi suggested

I wonder, is this what rattles in my car or is it the TOB? I've been told it is the TOB because it stops rattling if I'm not idling even if I'm not driving forward and it stops when I push the clutch in... But if it is that, and it is that easy to fix, then that's awesome

10:10 PM!? What are you doing up so late on a week night?

I heard from the shop that my car has lost 80 lbs so far. That is just weight savings for internal trim, carpet and stock roll hoops. Bigger weight savings from stripping the air conditioning and full HVAC core, airbags, stock wheel, dual exhaust are all to come! I'm looking forward to see what the car feels like on track after the big diet.

it was 12:10 AM... but yeah...

That will be cool, a little like when I drive it?

Oh and by the way, I am going and racing my car but it is complicated cuz I still can't get work off... The short version of it is: Instructing the first two sessions on Friday and racing the last 2 on Saturday.

By the time they're done, hopefully it will be 200 to 250 lbs saved. So even lighter than when you drive it.

Can you run some things down to Utah Imports for me this week? The AEM Serial Gauge that is sitting in the box on my desk and the high flow cat that is in the garage.

I sold a LOT of stuff from the car including the exhaust, straight pipe, cat, steering wheel, airbags and other crap. High flow cat was sold with the exhaust stuff, so Allan will need it for shipping. They will be installing the AEM Serial Gauge so he needs that as well.

There are a lot of exotic cars here in Singapore. I've seen more Ferraris, Lambos and other exotics in the last couple of days than I've seen in the last couple of years.

Remuda subdivision........you? the rattle that mitsu states in the TSB is either a damaged input shaft bearing, reverse idler gear, or clutch disc (hub to input shaft spline wear)& is most noticable when the a/c compresser engages.

still havent seen that other black evo up here

What the hell are you using as an exhaust then? And what steering wheel did you get?

And yes, I most likely can sometime this week... which day would be the latest you'd want it done?

Oh, and the pads are out of stock that I used to use because Cobalt is changing the compound, so I'm ordering some others that will be cheaper so I can pay half of them too if you'd like.
