are they 264's? what are most of the shops charging? i don't have cam gears with mine all the dsm guys say that the hks cams are so percise this is why you don't need cam gears with them.
ut evo whoever told you cams are NOT for a street driven car has obviously never ridden in a evo with cams..

yeah he had the 272's, he had taken them out cuz he hated them and after all the other things he'd done they weren't adding much power...then again, they were also saying how intake and exhaust adds a lot on the low end and not much on the high end....pretty sure the R&D guy was the only one that knew what he was talking about, which is why I waited till I saw the actual dyno results for the exhaust before I ordered mine...20 bucks says the guy's cams weren't HKS and didn't have adjustable gears and it wasn't tuned properly, cuz I know they make a good deal of power...if I ever go crazy I'll probably get 264's and a FMIC.....hopefully that's as crazy as I ever go, though some of the turbo builds are sounding pretty nice...anyway, point is, you're probably right Zach, he's probably never been in a properly tuned evo with cams, it's like someone saying the Walboro fuel pump is a stupid mod...everyone freakin has one, how could it be stupid?

 

yeah cams are sweet you know when your car falls off power after 5500rpm or so, well imagine that kick you get @ 4k pulling the same until 7k that's what cams feel like. with big turbo's cams are the best mod ever! rob pulls away from me like crazy with his big turbo from 6k to 8k.
