The rears are 5 lbs stiffer than stock to decrease understeer and body roll. I've got a progress group 25mm rear swaybar to install and that should flatten it up nicely.

I think for the money this is an awesome way to increase the performance. If you research the Hotchkis springs, no one has said a bad word about them.
sounds more like a comfy street setup which most people want. there are other ways to get rid of the dreaded understeer. there is plenty stock camber adjustment in the rear that easliy make the car rotate.

It's hard for me to give an opinion on handling right now because the all season tires made the car so unresponsive. When the Advans go back on than I'll see how handling has improved.

Zach, I get the car aligned on Monday, and it will get back to factory specs no problem.

I had tein lowering springs on my car before I got coilovers. They seemed to work fine for the first bit, but rapidly got worse as the strut wore out. The problem I see with just doing springs is you throw the strut/shock out of it's efficiency range, and cause it to lose it's performance(it get's hotter faster, causing a soft sometimes bouncey shock feel) This is why coilovers have adjustable ride height by raising only the lower coller/mounting bracket.

Ray, do you know where I can find some good write ups on camber, castor, and alignment for our cars?? I'm planning on getting my car corner balanced/weighted, but I want a bit more aggresive alignment, and don't really know where to start.

sorry don't know where there are any write-ups. it's all in my head.

tell me what you want the car to do. and what the car is doing now. it is amazing on what you can do with alignment settings to make the car dance the way you want it to.

just ask me. i'll help you the best i can. just ask jake on how his car handles after i was done with it. and yes, i aligned it too.

Ray, give me a call 801-920-3084 I'm very interested in picking your brain about alignment. I saw your evo at a few different auto-x events last year, and whether it's the way you drive, or the way the car was set-up it was impressive, and seemed to work well.
thanks,
Rob

Don't pick his brain -- there's all kinds of disGUSTing gunk up there! Besides, just take it to him or one of his guys and have them do the alignment.

Before the install of Jake's ... err Ray's coilovers ... onto Jake's car, the body roll was awful. The handling was excellent, but the body roll was atrocious. Improvement was very noticeable.

Ray, you should have gone with JRZ coilovers. The JIC's are ricer POS.

o-genkichan, welcome! We're all going down to an open track event at Spring Mountain in Nevada (40 min or so from Vegas) on 19-20 Mar. Come on out!
