Utah Evos
i have seen & driven johns car many times & it is by far the cleanest evo out there!!!! i'm sure on a solid race gas tune that car could put down 420whp+ easy & would go 11's no problem or be a killer road race car....
2nd thru 5th might not break loose in a straight line when going is all they're using their friction for... But the famed Friction Circle is much more than that... You have traction used for braking, acceleration, and cornering. I think someone here can tell you about using all of the friction circle for cornering and then trying to use a lot of it for braking at the same time.
It comes back to my examples, I can hit the gas WOT before an Apex while a Corvette or other higher hp car has to wait untill after or even until they're going straight again to hit the gas fully.

. my first day ever racing (at an autox) someone taught me the traction circle and understanding that concept is huge for a fast lap time. it is possible to have a fairly well balanced evo with a lot of hp. vesko's black evo must be making over 500whp but unlike most high hp evos he not only invested in power but also handling and braking. vesko found a good balance of power handling and braking for the car and that is very important, but the reliability issue comes into play as it seems that every time i see that black evo there are always problems with it while the white ca evo which has around 375whp doesnt experience any reliability issues that i know of but is only 1 or 2 seconds behind the black one lap time wise
is there any disadvantage to running a spacer on a street wheel? i have a 25mm spacer for my track wheels (17x9.5 nt03+m) and when i threw my street wheels back on (volk ce28 17x8.5 +30) i left the spacer on and it looks sick. will running with a spacer all the time cause extra stress or wear or have any negative side effects on daily driving?? thanks

The black car was like 4 seconds ahead of the white car and that was when he was just coasting around.
oh as you can see i really don't know much about vesko's cars. so if he is never running high boost and only set to around 350whp for miller why does the car have such a big turbo?? wouldnt it be more benificial to run a smaller turbo and have a way better powerband?? also the two guys with the white cars told me that they were running around 350-375 whp so what makes vesko's black car so much faster than the two white ones if they have the same whp and are on the same basic suspension and weight reduction level??
If you can send it to shep or TRE that is the way to go. If you need to get it done locally I don't know of anyone who specializes in them, Sadly Mitsu might be your best bet for rebuild. For removal and install Solid or Zach(silverofs) would be your best bet.
One of my problems with making so much power on the track is brakes. The more power you make the harder it is to slow down. Erich wrote this awesome race gas map the car made awesome power but requiered way different braking lines in order to keep the brakes together. The evos's imo don't need huge power because the grip they can produce. Lets just say that the only real threat to a properly driven street evo on the track are the race prepared cars. All the street cars like vipers, vetts and what ever else get real pissed when their super cars are punked by a 4dr "grandma car". I would like 420+whp to go around the track though guess it's time for a green
