I got it from ebay about 2 years ago.. I tried to find another one for you but I didn't have any luck, I know it came from like china or something and was about ~$165.

Update on the car: Checked the timing marks today and they look spot on so I am going to remove the valve cover or possible take it to a shop and have them remove it and check what is wrong. A buddy at a shop said it could be a bad lifter. wish me luck

Yea I am just going to have to take it to a shop ... as long as it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to fix I am going to be buying an Innovate wideband and openport 1.3M cable next friday

Wow I think I got lucky, I took her to the shop today and the mechanic said she ran good and sounded good and she probably just needs some thicker oil and higher octane gas.

After I left the mechanic I went to the gas station and got some 93 octane gas and then stopped by Advance Auto and got Mobil 1's 15w-50 racing oil and now she runs like a champ.

Was using Mobil 1 10w-30. I think it might be because I was using 10w-30 high mileage mobil 1 and then I went to just regular 10w-30 mobil 1?

Needless to say I will be running 15w-50 Mobil 1 and at least 91 octane gas from now on . As long as she keeps running good til next friday then I will be going ahead with the wideband purchase.

edit: also I have been trying to read up as much as I can about turbos and such on the forum. I recall reading something about the Evo MAF being better for turbo than the lancer MAF. but If I went 4 bar then woulnd't I not need the MAF? I still need to figure out how the 4bar works exactly lol.

 

When I bought my car it took me a few months to realize that for some reason some of the cushion (foam) under the rear seat was missing so I just stuffed some towels under there as a temp fix.

Removed the rear seat the other day to change the fuel pump strainer and found this:

Wow. Yeah I think your car was doing some illegal stuff at some point of its life.

 

I think one of my lifters is bad on the 4g93 head I put in so I am going to transplant them from my original 4g94 head to the 4g93 . I have a loss of power sometimes and in the higher revs you can really feel it doesn't like it, you can hear the lifter ticking when the car starts and continues to tick usually. Sometimes it does go away and I found a way to "bleed" them in the FSM so I tried that and to my surprise it actually worked which is why I feel my lifter(s?) is bad.

Thanks to the creator of this video for making life 10x easier. I had several mechanics who said I would need to remove the cam to get to the lash adjusters (lifters) but this is actually not true for our cars.

Damn, now this is some serious engine work. How long til you think it's up and running again?

 

I don't think I would consider this serious engine work, should only take me a few hours in a day to do .. now replacing the cam would be a lot of work lol

yea it gets pretty hot down here, thankfully I can work in the comfort of my garage now but it still gets pretty hot in there too so I use a big fan or two to keep myself cool ...

ended up replacing just the exhaust side lifters (edit: actually I replaced the entire exhaust side rocker arm because the 4g93 one had rust on it) with some that I thought were good from my 4g94 head and the sound went away and she seems to run great now beers all around

went ahead anyways and ordered all new lifters for $61.50 (16 total) on ebay, as well as getting another valve cover for $30 (that's a steal right?) so I can have it painted/powdercoated and looking nice ... long story short I ended up damaging my valve cover because I torqued it too much (DONT DO THIS LOL) and had to bang it back into place, 2 days no leaks yet #fingerscrossed

 

What color are you planning on painting your valve cover??

 

Still undecided .. I really want to repaint my car another color but I havn't decided on that either. I am just waiting to figure out where I want to go with the whole color scheme of the car.

Right now thinking about:
-Matte white car with black accents (storm trooperish)
-Add an extra coat to the existing black I have and make it a "satin" black finish and continue with my murdered out look.
-Possibly add gold metalizer into the black, curious to see how this turns out so I am going to play around with the Plasti Dip in the cans. I don't think anyone has tried it yet.

But overall I am still completely open to ideas.. I swing from color to color almost on a daily basis... Was thinking matte yellow would look nice too

I really like the storm trooper idea. I was thinking if doing my car white with the blue accents. I haven't decided yet either. Every time I look at other lancers I get different ideas for mine. I can't settle on one idea. It's hard.. I know.

But I think the storm trooper idea would b pretty awesome. Or the gold metalizer might b interesting also.
