As far as the waste gate goes, it's at 9psi...if i use the compressor outlet (j-pipe) as the boost source, or positive pressure source, rather than the intake manifold, will i see a huge pressure drop at the manifold? (24x6x2.5 FMIC)...cause i'm thinking, if i'm going to use the 440cc injectors, i could do with a little bit less boost, until i get my big 16g, and 550cc injectors...
yeah just weld the bung in the downpipe and there is software that will collect the data for you on a pc. or you can get a zeitronix wideband and that comes with the software to do it for you and you can also purchase other gauges and things for it to log boost if you want to

When would you consider upgrading the fuel rail? 500hp?

external wastegates are generally more versatile, adjustbale, as well, arguably more consistent or "stable", though i know many people who run 30+ psi on internal wastegates by using electronic or manual boost controllers without any problems.

it really doesn't matter much, cause even though most external wastegates are adjustable, both can be manipulated by a boost controller...however, if you run low boost, like 4-5 psi or something, you'd want external, cause i don't even think they make internal actuators that operate that low...

So if my turbo has an internal wastegate can i remove it and opt for a external in its place?

yeah, but you have to block the internal gate some how...by either blocking it off, plugging it, or welding it closed...sometimes you can get an outlet flange that blocks the internal wastegate...
