What could this be?
Lol, then it's not for you...you do realise you can bolt on a turbo, and boost your car without a scpecifically designed kit, and proper tuning right any time you want? that's what the RRM kit is...lol, or you could source your own parts and make your own kit, and tune it using a stand alone control system..."tuning" can also be done through larger injectors and variable fuel pressure...you just won't get optimal power gains and your fuel economy will be the shyts...how do you think they turboed carburated engines in the 1950's? they didn't reflash and tune ECU's, that's for sure...
This kit is not the only solution, it's merely the best solution available for this engine, mind you the trump card is the software and the ability to tune, the kit is just shiny and designed to fit the car, so you don't have to do any leg work...have patience, and if you're serious about acquiring this kit then patience shouldn't be an issue...if you're that anxious you must already have 4 grand saved up ready to drop on the kit, right?

If there is a way to purchase the manifold and downpipe i would do so in a heart beat and develop a kit alone.
The hardest part is developing a downpipe and manifold i have found. If it were me just use a series 2.
It is still on we have not put in this much effort and time to fade off in the distance. We are just working through some bad luck. I have now broken 3 oem front motor mounts and well enough is enough I had to order a polly one from California and to ship from there to here is a minimum of 4 days. Then all that is left is to tune one section of the mapping and the the group buy can get rolling. Hackish really wants the software ready to go and is working crazy hours to get it completed......

Yes awesome thank you and all that are devoting many hours to making this happen. I can only imagine the hard work that you all are doing. No worries, take your time! I was simply looking for an update and teaser pics!! Thank again! Good Luck on everything! I hope to have my RA boosted with this quality kit!
i could send you my stock one as a temporary while you wait...did you ever try the Devcon Flexane method? If my rear window weld mount goes, i'll be giving that a shot...
Motor mount came in should be installed in the next day or so.....
While Hack has been working on the software I have been working with another company that will be releasing a tunable plasma ignition system, not a plasma spark plug but a full plasma discharge system....I have this on a few test cars one a 4b12 and a EVO 9. The goal of this round of testing was to determine can we maintain power and torque while getting better fuel economy so far it is a success. Next is to tune the engine to the to the full capability of the system....the results do far have been very good.

so what you're saying is i'll be wanting to spend more money? I read up on plasma ignition, and if the claims are sound it seems like this would be a worthy investment...but at what cost?
I mean, one manufacturer claimed anywhere from 8 to 60 percent increase in fuel efficiency...now that's a pretty bold claim, and i would imagine the 60% would be an example of some very inefficient engines, but still, if this is true, then we have another key player in fuel efficiency other than the obvious aerodynamic problem, which is, aerodynamic cars are ugly, and having the aerodynamic qualities of a shoe box is not only looks good, but also accounts for much of a vehicle's fuel inefficiency...
what are we looking at for power as compared to coil on plug?
and any updates on the software? what about live tuning, haven't heard much lately, but then i haven't been on club4g in a while...need some info on the lancer side of the fence...

Hack will have to up date the software he has not said much to me these days.
I have the system on my Audi and there is a good drop in fuel with a stage one tune. Will be going to a tuner in the next few weeks and see what he can do.
Another test car is a 4b12 and here are his fuel numbers. Test car owner is a bit of a smart ***.....
UPDATED TUNE!!! (With large man in seat)
ALRIGHT!!!! SO Time to update this baby...Met up with Brent today after work and he tweaked around with the SPDI spark and then we went around for a spin. Pretty significant difference from where I was before...With his huge butt in the car we got these numbers....
40km/h --> 6.5 L
60km/h --> 6.6 L
80km/h --> 6.1 L
100km/h --> 6.8 L
120km/h --> 8.2L
I will re-record some new numbers without Wolverineottawa slowing me down lol! as soon as I get a chance....probably this weekend.
Overall so far so good...its even MORE sensitive than before...picks up a lot faster...From my previous numbers city driving was sitting around 7.2-8L/100km and now its around 6....highway has improved a lot as well...on my trip to TO we were looking at 10-10.5 which was pretty much regular with just the Works tune...now down to 8ish is pretty sexy....
So far I am pretty impressed, lookin forward to the spring when things start to warm up so we can get some sexier numbers!!!! In the mean time I'll post up an update asap with just solo driving...or a lighter passenger biglol
THANKS BRENT~!!! LOVE YOU LONG TIME BIG PASSENGER!!!! lol!
