I would have to concur, a underdrive pulley set would be the ****. And put me that much closer to being 13's N/A which is my ultimate goal then to go FI and shoot for 11's and lower. But it's a long lng road ahead.

I have a downpipe question, is simply removing the cat giving the hp gains that we see or is it also the fact the the RRM downpipe is a much better piece than the one that comes from the factory. Here is why I am asking my question. Has RRM or anybody considering making one with a high flow cat. That way you wouldn't get a cel and it would still be clean. Would the high flow cat cancel out HP gains to the point it wouldn't be worth installing installing it? I am kind of a tree hugger but I am not hear to preach, I am also a car nut, I love performance, I love to go for drives, I am a huge motorsports fan. I am going to start modding my car this june. (money right now is being saved for my trip to the indy 500) I just want to get parts that make my car faster and more fun but also clean. I ifgured since you are talking about the RRM down pipe this would be a good section to post. Any input would be great.

well dude, i think you have a nice point off view. i think rrm should take the same piece and make a new model by adding a hi flow cat to the rear end and vuala, that would do the trick jejejejejeje . and with that be prepare to put some extra$$$$$$$$ . you want it clean ,you go it but you got to paid buajajajajajajajaja (just kidding)

You could have a high-flow cat welded into the downpipe if you wanted to... It'd still give you performance up from the stock DP...
And honestly you have to look at RRM's POV on this.. It's a DP, they explain it's going to cause CEL & removes the cat... for them to start making it w/ a hi-flow cat in there would probably cost more than you buying the hi-flow cat & having a muffler shop do a weld job...

Not to mention I think they'd only sell a handful due to the fact that eliminating the cat & throwing the gains UP is what everyone's in it for...
Not trying to sound negative... I just think that you have to look at the business side of that for RRM...

But you should see how much it'd be for you to buy a hi-flow cat & have it welded in!!!

I understand the business side for RRM or any other company, the biggest reason I was wondering was because I don't want to trip a cel. The other option I have seen, I don't know if this would work on a mitsu is on some cars when you eliminate the cat you can plug the O2 sensor into a little piece that tricks the ecu that everything is running fine. Here is a link to what I am talking about. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...28&prmenbr=361 I am looking to get the most out of my car with out messing it up to much, I know the emmision system is something to be very careful with.

If you're going for a fix this is probably the easiest & cheapest!
I've done this & it works great no SES... I've had it on for about 1500 miles, but I know people have had it on longer & still haven't thrown the SES code!

I'm going to order this down pipe on monday.. I dont care how load my car is. I need to go faster!! I have a G-force meter. they say they are accuret up to .10 of a second.. once I get this bolt on I'll do a few runs and tell u guys what I get. my best run stock was 7.3 0-60 after my Injen CAI and magnaflow cat back I ran a 6.77 0-60. I'll be happy if after this mod I can hit 0-60 in 6.6 :P

I don't think you'll have a problem hitting that goal. DP adds the power where you need it.

Just an update, I never got a resonator added in, but I've gotten used to the sound, it doesn't bug me anymore. I'll probably just leave it as is.

I also have the DP and it sounded VERY loud with a magnaflow exhaust. The power was increace was VERY noticable. I could not tolerate the amount of noise and I tripped a CEL in 50 miles with the anti foul fix. The next day I had a high flow cat welded in just after the DP and a resonator in the mid pipe. I can still hear my intake and also hear a little rumble in the back. Much nicer sound

mojambo: could you tell any difference in the power gains after the cat was installed? I know you did it pretty quckly, so probably didnt have it without long enough to tell...

also, has anyone had any dyno runs done /w the downpipe? I believe it is having gains, but I am really interested in seeing where the gains are. more torque or power gains? I am not interested in peak gains so much, but more interested in overall gains
