Sounds good, can't wait to see the finished product (assuming it fits 03s as well).

This will work great for people who want to eliminate most of their drive train lash but don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the motor mounts. Plus this won't cause nearly as much vibration at idle as the hard motor mounts do.
Is that what you felt so far with the dampner on? And can you guys share a couple of preview pics with us?

It woulnd't fit... you have the previous body type and the 2.0l engine. I think I remember Robert saying he thought of doing one for the 2.0l though... maybe there's gonna be one made for your model later... Rob?

Hmmm....kinda odd, you'd think it'd work fine considering we can share strut bars and all. So basically there needs to be a damper for the evo, ralliart and lancer engine?

Rob took pics but I'm not sure if he wants to post them yet or not. They were mainly for getting measurements to make sure he has the right bracket height and the right angle from the brackets to the damper. The product isn't quite complete so we didn't have a final install and drive. I've just been in a few cars that do have the damper and there is only very minimal drive train lash and no vibration at idle. Those dampers also didn't look as sturdy as Rob's either.

I know that this damper will not work on the 2.0 engines because of the motor mount. The three bolts that the bracket attatches to is a different pattern on the 2.4 motor mount. The strut mount is the same and can be used but a different bottom bracket would have to be designed. In fact I think the top bracket that Rob used for the RA is the same as the one he used for the Evo. I'm not sure if the Evo motor mount is the same as yours though.

Damn, hopefully Rob can add some insight into whether the 2.0 will ever get one.

I'm so anxious to see the final product. This will probably be my first mod on the RA.

Well I said a while back that I will be purchasing this once it is completed (dependant upon price of course) and I feel the same now.

Is there a projected finish date on this project yet?

How did the test fit go and what is left to complete?

Hi, All,

Yes, I'm working on the Lancer damper. Slowly. Paying work has been getting in the way of making car parts - sad, eh?

I did submit for a quote on parts that I redrew based on meeting with Ralliart50. When I get those, he and I'll do a refit. If it is satisfactory, I'll let him drive around with the damper on his car (he gets one on the house) and he can give you the feedback. Then, I'll cut a purchase order for a quantity of the part, wait, wait some more, then I'll be ready for product release. Patience!

I had to mod the 2.4 engine mount bracket to make it 1.25" taller, so the the force will act tangent to the rotation of the engine about it's mount. For you 2.0 guys, you are on the list as well, and if the next 2.4 bracket is the right design, I can mod the 2.0 bracket design that I have to work for y'all as well.

- Rob

Sounds good Rob. Let me know when you are ready to meet again so that I can plan it. I'll just plan on coming up to your shop this time so that it's easier for us.
