Yeah, I was hoping for someone to have similar mods to myself to see the gains. I know there will be gains no doubt, but I want to know what numbers is expected.

Just took a look at your mods, we have similar mods. Now, this would have been a good comparison had one of us got the Camshaft

I can't see myself paying 1200 dollar for a product that hasn't even dynoed. Don't get me wrong I do understand that there WILL be some gains but come on 1200 you can do better than that by taking your head to somebody else...

its flow benched tho. so it is proven to work. Just dont have an exact number. and all numbers are gonnna be different cuz of different cars, different mods, and different dynos. Flow bench is good enough. dyno would be nice, but unneccasary if its flowbenched... besides rob and they guys at RRM know what they are doing. They dont sell crappy parts. Has anybody here bought a part for there lancer from RRM and have anything bad to say??? exactly.

I can see it may have been a mistake on Rob's part for putting the cam and the head in the same thread. It's confusing trying to figure out who is responding to what half the time.

i don't get why some people are so hellbent on the numbers anyway. even if the took a stock RA and dynoed each part individually that wouldn't matter b/c you're car is different. even one with the same exact mods as you will dyno slightly different. If i put this in come back and give it a review that says how much better this made my car then isnt that all you need to hear? when youre driving down the road do you measure you car in HP or face plastered to seat and having fun with it?

oK since some people here are blindfolded with parts already make for our cars that costs them around 1200 I will outline a little cylinder head basics for porting :

Basically there are two ways to port and polish a head :

1- This is the best, it's the most balanced in terms of flow and it's used on nascar engines and stuff, EXTRUDE HONING is what they call it here is a link so you people can educate yourselves http://www.boneheadperformance.com/s...xtrudehone.htm
so then this type of porting is a little expensive than hand porting but again it's the best available. For your cars the price list is on their web site too it's like a 600$ price or something near that and that does not include the valve job but again you can send your head to a local machine shop to remove the valve train and will not cost you much and when the head returns you could ask them to do the valve job and you will get your racing HONE EXTRUDED head for more or less 1000$ 200$ cheaper than RRM

2- HAND PORT AND POLISH, now let's clear some stuff here
I believe this is the technique RRM is using that's why they have to measure the flow of each port (extrude honing measures at the same time that removes material). This porting is the less expensive and sometimes the best available in American Old engines which have a lot of Metal to remove now I don't know about you guys but why pay more for something when you can get it done by some PRO's now heres a link for a Racing machine shop that will PORT and POLISH and do a profiling of the combustion chambers (a must). Now this service from them (http://www.cfmperformance.com/services.htm) costs around 450$ which is Stage IV head add another 125 for the racing valve job gets you to 575$
and if you don't want to send your head buy one from car-parts.com for 225 and send it . TOTAL cost 800$ and you will have a spare head that is 400$ cheaper than the RRM head

i went to a few machine shops and they all said minimum of 600 just to port it out, no valve job and sacrifice my head for at least 2weeks. since they said minimum we all know it be more like 8 plus how much would the valve job cost? and with RRM their is 1day downtime which is b/c it'll take me a day to do the swap. and until you ask RRM dont go assuming how they do their work. plus theyve now done an RA head put it on a car, have these guys done an RA before?

also that site says nothing about polishing the head just porting it like the machine shops i went to.

Dude do you know how to read it's in the header on the page PORT AND POLISHING

you went to local machine shops which are used to cheap services, these sites are racing machine shops, and as I said you can buy a used head for only 225 more or less that way you only use that head and leave you car running.!!!!

the head on that page reads:

Bonehead Performance is now a proud dealer for Extrude Hone.

it also has the extrude hone version 1.0 logo and another pic with the wods extrude hone AFM process.

the shop i went to is huge for east coast mopar guys, they do race cars and even jet engines. i do my research, i know how to read, and if you dont think RRM is offering you good stuff then go to someone else and stop bashing their stuff that youve never tried or even gotten the facts about. you can speculate on how they do it but until you show me the email from Rob that says "this is how i do it" its all worth nothing.

I don't know if you can read the header says
CFM - Services

Porting and Polishing

http://www.cfmperformance.com/services.htm

can somebody please verify this??!!!
BTW is the second link W @s

I do believe RRM has good products I already bought some stuff from them I was just trying to help people like you that only concentrates in buying parts from RRM for a lot more money than you can get them but in the end you can't teach old dogs new tricks so !!! forget about it

Ralliart329, I think migue is just trying to basically share some information on how else to go about porting and polishing as to some of us, we can be hooked on just buying parts from one vendor when in fact you can research and probably find it cheaper.

We all know RRM are the gods of the Lancer, but its not bad to always learn new things

If you can, also please take a picture of your stock camshaft if you are there when the install is taking place. Would like to see the difference
