Try GM/penzoil synchromesh, and maybe some lucas additive, so the oil rides the gears better...Also, my 3rd gear was like that, and when i tore the tranny down, to replace the 3rd gear synchro and all the bearings, the synchro that was in there was fine, but i did my clutch as well, and the problem went away...so i don't even know for sure if it was the synchro or the clutch, but try the fluid first and give it a week.

GM/penzoil synchromesh does wonders for the shifting...

just dont expect it to be miraculous lol

I have a similar issue on my IX 6 speed. Double clutching to match the speed of the engaging gears/cogs makes it a lot easier on the synchros.

Note: I don't race or beat on my gearbox, just DD. I don't know how effective it will be if you're racing.

Have you done all the necessary troubleshooting on all the shift linkages and bushing first? As CrAnSwIcK said, it ended up being something totally different. When I had my transmission rebuilt, it wasn't exactly what I had diagnosed either, it was more clutch related than anything else.

AndyCT9W I wish they offered the CT9W in the states, I'd have one for sure.

there are additives to change the viscosity of the oil, if you already are using a synchromesh oil, then you may be having problems elsewhere.

i use sincroshift 2 im having a problem going into 4th both downshifting and shifting into it. just changed the bushings and it made it worse.dont get me wrong bushings are awesome and worth the upgrade i was thinking it was the syncros aswell now im thinking to just swap all the syncros and replace the flywheel (aluminum) and upgrade the the clutch maybe clutch masters.

if i baby it into 4th its ok just anything above 4k is when it starts to grind.

If it's only certain gears it's a good chance it's the synchros. If you don't know much about gearboxes (I'm not saying you don't, just if you don't), read through this link. It helped me understand a lot about my grinds and other gearbox issues I've read about.
