****! they really did a ****ty job... opened the hood. clutch line bracket isn't bolted in. cotter pin on shifter bushing is missing and in it's place is a peice of wire, and the alignment has 2 mm toe-in (relative to center) on the front left wheel, and 3.5 mm toe-out (relative to center) on the front left wheel.

and they did attempt to do an alignment because the camber plates aren't what I set them at when i did the alignment last myself.. heck I can do a better alignment with string and a ruler than they can do with their machine...

I doubt they designed the tranny that way to interchange parts like that.. unless honda made the transmission... or some how coincidentally honda and mitsu tranny parts fit together like that

yeah, they're supposed to take off the spindle at the lower ball joint, not the strut. If your unfamiliar with trans R&R it seems harder via the ball joint, IF you don't count having to align.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/3591385...7614946831796/ theres the album of all the pics i took. don't mind the icicles

I think they didn't take it off the ball joint was because they would have to use a pickel fork which would ruin the boot of the ball joint and they didn't want to replace that, so they took the easy ways and just pulled the bolts out of the knuckle...

there's a couple of ways to pop the ball joint W/O a pickle fork, a 5' prybar is one and a brass sledge is the other. It's quicker than the upper connection especially if you count the align.

there is a special tool also, sort of like a pickle fork but not supposed to damage the boot. It's difficult to use and you have to find it in the special tool bin, the last tech didn't put it back etc.

or.. the person who did my car was a complete noob... i hope my tires don't die, but seeing how it's 1.5mm in over all, i'll just have problems with tracking and my steering wheel will be slightly crooked...

holy... you know... i dont even know what to say. you got the car back almost more ****ed up then it was when you brought it in. u know what? in my opinion they owe you at least 5 washes. and not -just- a wash. I'm talking detailing in and out. and a couple free oil changes.

Update.
I love dealing with the service reps at west side, they are awesome and wanna make things right. I'm in another loanar car while they make it right again. hopefully it's done by the end of this week as it isn't transmission work... hopefully underpanels don't take too long to order

underpanels are important for aerodynamics especially once you start to push about 140mph or so. Become critical about 160. The panel fastening clips are a PITA on these especially for the rookies.

not too mention what you experienced with the snow

some Porsches and the new nissan Gtr have full under-paneling.

techs should never be rushed, in a perfect world they would be paid on the clock, not commission. It's like going to the doctor, dangerous to hurry.

very true. only if our cars had a lot of after market support... I have a friend who has a celica who was able to order an aluminum under panel for like $60 when the factory plastic one was like $200 or something rediculus like that. and as far as I know, they are paid on the clock, not by the job. The mechanic who worked on my car got called out and it was a younger guy (older than me though) who looked like he didn't really care. (no meaning to prejudge). It seemed that the service advisor was pretty mad at him though and it seemed like this isn't the first time a customer came back.

NWM_Tech, are you a mechanic for a mitsubishi dealership?

small update. I went to the mistu dealership at about 1 AM last night (I went to the gym and I was in the area)
walked around the whole lot, peeked in thought the service door, and my car is no where on the property. I'm guessing they sent the car out to get that scratch taken care of.
