Gas Mileage Thread | [MERGED]
My 04 R/A auto gets around 27 to 28 in mixed driving. I've got 33 hwy only. I drive aggressively
on take off mostly but don't usually trip the Mivec swith while on the hwy. keep it under 3500rpm.

Gas Problem Very Poor?
Holy shiet!!, i just payed attention to what kind of gas mileage I get. I get 195miles per TANK!!! that shiet is horrible, I have a cai and just installed my axle back and still the same thing 195miles per tank. I maybe red line it once and keep it under 4KRPM? is this right
That doesn't sound right even if you cained/ripped it all the time..
You should at least be seeing 200-230 mpg.
Somethings not right, tires checked? cai installed correctly? hmm someone will come up with something..

Is this all city or mixture of both. In all city driving i get about 230 per tank with spirited driving. Highway i can get up to 300+ per tank with some spirited driving. Budweiser is that city and highway or mostly highway cause people say they get 230-250 per half tank and dont specify if thats majority highway or mostly city.
I know how you feel. I can not get anything better than 18-19mpg in this car, and its get annoying when I have to fell up. It's really upsetting when the VQ gets better gas than the 4G69, or when my friend with Intake, MBC, TBE on his RS get better gas than me, fustrating to hell!

Things to think about:
Season change, it's colder, using more heat?
More idling?
Rain = More gas consumed
Tire PSI: low psi = more friction = more gas consumed
Engine oil
Faulty o2 sensor?
Just some things to check when you get bad mileage. For the next 2 tanks, try and keep track of the mileage, if it's consistantly that low it would probably mean one of those things I listed, but if it's shooting up (200miles on one tank, 350miles on another) then something is wrong with your ECU.
For daily driving(I know it's boring) I stay below that, only hitting 2500RPM on my way to work. Save the revving for the track days.

Poor gas milage?
I have a stock 04 with about 54K miles on it. I checked my gas milage last night and I'm only getting about 19.5MPG. Most of my driving is in town. It isn't my air filter or tire pressure. What else could it be? I know i'm getting close to my 60K mile maintanance and I do need an oil change but 19mpg seems low to me. Any ideas?
