Wow, here I am in the middle again.... I'm usually getting 24.5-26mpg mostly highway right at 70-72mph (just about crossover). If I have skiddish company in the car and keep it to 65 I did notice my milage improving.... But what fun is THAT? I must not be whipping that mule hard enough if I can get down to 15mpg :lol I'll try and do better.

I get 20~23mpg mixed city/highway with me "racing" every light I get to... Not really racing, but accelerating quickly..

I bet if I drove like a wimp I'd get 27~29mpg.

Mike

MPG Increase

I have a 2004 automatic RA with 35k miles. Ever since I've owned it, the fuel light will come on at or below 270 miles on a full tank of fuel. Now that I have the underdrivepulley, On two occasions, the fuel light will not come on til I've driven 290 miles. I'm very impressed with those results, I was skeptical at first when I read other threads about the mpg gain with the pulley but I have now seen the results for myself!!

I hear ya'. I have the pully on my auto as well. I love it. Did you feel an increase in power down low as well. That's why I really like it on the auto. It lets the engine rev a lot faster and that is desperatly needed on the auto. I've gotten a little over 300 miles a few times before the light came on, before the pulley my highest was 285.

Is it an under drive pulley or is it just a light weight crank pulley. You should see similar results either way but you would get a little faster rev and power out of an UD pulley.

The ES one is lightweight only. You will see improvements, but not as much as the RA folks will. The 4G94 lightweight pulley is also heavier than the RA one, due to having to drive 2 belts.

Lousy MPG, what to look for?

21K miles, just did a seafoam treatment and new air filter. Completely stock, auto trans and with normal mixed city / hwy driving, rarely over 80 mph. I cannot muster more than 23 mpg? I was hoping for at least 26/28 mpg.

I wouldn't think that as too bad in a Sportback, you are heavier than most of us... In a manual sedan RA I get about 19 around town... Regularly with synthetic oil changes every 3750 miles... I forget the speed that MIVEC kicks in with an automatic... Could be a factor...

That seems about right, mivec should kick in the same as an auto because doesn't it kick in the oil get's to a certain pressure? The best you can do is just try to stay out of mivec. Anyways, you should've bought a civic. lol
