Or be given a power boost and some stiffer suspension parts.

They were partnering up with GETRAG to bring this out.
It was supposed to be mated with VW 2.0 liter turbo-diesel engine.
Starting off in their foreign markets.
Did that get cancelled?
Probably. Even so, I can't see myself in a Chrysler. They make Mitsu interiors seem high-end.

...all magazines were impressed with the MS3 as soon as it came out. this isnt the first comparo that the MS3 won!

magazines arent always going after pure #'s and testing dat, they are also attracted to refinement, and that feeling you get in a tight sporty car, when you get in and grab the wheel. you know, thats why they are all obsessed with bmw's!

...my friend owns a base mazda 3, and a bmw X3. believe me when i say it, him and his wife often argue about who will take which car (both drive 20-30miles to work every day), cause both prefer the mazda!
now take that firm suspension, quick steering, great cornering ability, nice interior solid build feel, and decent price-tag and add a big turbo to that already great package... now you tell me how the MS3 wins every comparo

+1 on the 'stiffer suspension', but -1 on the 'more power'

more power isnt always a solution to everything... if you give a Ralliart a power boost, what happens to the X then?? how much closer to the measly 291 that the X makes, do you wanna get?? if you boost up the RA to within lets say 30hp of the X, who will ever buy the X which costs thousands more?
i think first they have to give the X a much needed power boost... then worry about the ralliart's power. the WRX made do with 220-230hp for 6 years, and was just fine

on the other hand, as far as weight, the RA weighs 250lb more than either the wrx or the MS3... having nearly identical exterior dimensions as the others, i think thats a problem

I understand. Had the current WRX or RA been out when I bought my MS3, I might have had different carl.

Me thinks with the recent financial trouble, that won't be happening for a long time.

A power boost in needed to overcome the weight. I doubt they could strip 200 lbs let alone 300 lbs while still maintaining the rigidity and refinement. Giving the X more power is easy and could also be done but the X is distinct from the Ralliart even if power is taken out of the equation.

i just double checked some recent news and they did cancel it.
Apparently, Chrysler and Getrag are having issues in coming to an agreement.
They wanted 700,000 TC-SST units made by a certain time and Getrag would not comply.

Still a Dodge, like I am one to talk, I have a SRT4.

What's your point? I know without reading the review that the GTI and Si are slower than the Ralliart doesn't mean that they aren't good cars and either one will probably outsell the WRX and Ralliart combined which means that they reach more buyers needs. Everyone has different criteria and it's not all about AWD, straight line speed, sports car handling, etc it's about personal preference and needs out of your car. Personally for a daily driver the GTI with DSG is the best of the group followed by the Ralliart but to each his own.

They probably won't boost the power much (or at all), considering they seem to have underrated it to begin with. I'd be satisfied if they'd just clean up the braking and handling.

One more stat to ponder. WRX 0-100 12.9, RA 0-100 16.0

What were the times for the GTI and the SI?
I said exactly that before, it comes down to personal preference but apparently personal preference also means ignorance (no this is not aimed at you) in some cases. For daily driving I would still take the WRX or the SS because I like a regular stick.
