Car and Driver Comparo is out
Yeah, but I'm not comparing the WRX vs a Base lancer. I know you were disappointed in what you got in terms of performance when you got the lancer. And yes i own both a turbo lancer and a turbo AWD Audi 1.8t Quattro.

Ur right u can't make the WRX and STi but if i can get similar performance for less i would.. I didn't expect the RA to be Jesus car. I expected it to Compete and it does. Subie has experience in this specific market. The ony time Mitsu did this was when they had the Lancer GSR back in the early 90's. I'm positive the RA will be available with a 5speed but havin the TC-SST does provide alot more convinience for everyday driving. And it puts up decent numbers considering that it can be driven as an automatic which they probably did anyway. I never said the WRX was "just like" the STi. I said it has similar performance.
I really don't understand your comment then, you said you're mad that the WRX came with a turbo but the base lancer didn't?

How does it compete? It seems like it always comes in last in comparison reviews. Is it a bad car? Certainly not, I think it looks really good and it has some really neat features but in this case, Mitsubishi brought a knife to a gun fight. The Ralliart is overweight (some 300 lbs heavier than the WRX which isn't a light vehicle), the suspension is too soft and the engine needs another 20 HP (mainly due to the first mentioned issue).
Than an exactly there was no point for the Ralliart. Nor does it need to compete with the WRX. Because the WRX already wins hands down. Why did they make this car?? With such low gas mileage it gets. Why?

The RA was originally suppose compete with the '08 WRX but Subie upped the performance last minute when the RA was complete. But we all forgot about that when word about the '09 WRX was on its way. Subie knew they were in trouble and they finally made the WRX right. I really don't care how much HP the car got, like i said i drove both and it is undoubtly faster than the RA but i would not buy it. I feel overall package in terms of looks, performance, accessories, standard features, interior, comfort and convenience, etc. the RA would be my choice b4 the WRX.
I don't think the Ralliart was a poor decision on Mitsubishi's part, they were missing an entire segment in their lineup and making an AWD 30000$ sedan was a wise choice. I'm just critical of their current iteration in that it's too little, too late.
Yes it was designed to compete with the 08 WRX, a car that Subaru fans made fun of and Mitsubishi fans made fun of.

It does compete, but as you can tell Mitsubishi is just giving people the detuned version of the X. Getting the IX transmission. Pushing out faster than the GTS, but lacks others. Its still RALLY. Its either or. I'd take the 09 WRX over the 09 RA. I'd take a Evolution over the STI.
